Compact, lightweight, potentially useful
I ordered these because it is something I always used to have about the car and in my work bag. Hopefully I will never need to use it but if a need for CPR does arise then this could benefit both yourself and the person receiving CPR, just simply from a hygiene perspective.latest advice from the NHS indicates that emergency breathes should only be given if you are confident in doing so. For adults, chest compressions should be given first, followed by 2 emergency breathes. For children it is 5 and they should be done before chest compressions. The mask itself is thin and inexpensive looking but is meant to be a single use disposable item and as such is simply a thin, compact barrier. The pouch is thick canvas type material with a lightweight keyring which you may want to replace with a slightly heavier one.I will be keeping these in my work bag and in the glove compartment of the car in the hope that I will never have to use them.

Rubbish
Iv had two on my keys and they have both fell off. The rings are too cheap and thin.

Basic face shields
These couduan face shields for CPR are fairly basic. They are enclosed in a small keyring pouch made from a synthetic fabric. The pouches are fairly sturdy, with a velcro fastening. I've tugged very hard on the rings and not had any issues with then coming loose or getting damaged. Obviously this is not a fair test of their use over a long period of time, but it offers some reassurance.I was surprised that the face masks themselves are not in a sealed package. As the pouches are designed to be kept with one's keys, they are going to be in and out of pockets, bags etc. As such, it won't take long before small crumbs/debris makes their way inside them and into contact with the face mask. As someone who has carried a face shield on my keyring for many years, I know just how grubby they can get! However, I've always been glad to know that my existing face shield will be clean when I come to use it. I wouldn't have the same confidence with these face shields and would probably want to replace them after carrying them for a while. The face masks are a large plastic shield. There are some odd elasticated loops at either side. I wasn't sure what these were for as the pictures printed on the face shield demonstrating use feature a different style of mask. However, I suspect that they are designed to loop around the patient's ears to help keep the mask in place. I have not (thankfully!) had the opportunity to use these face masks in a real resuscitation situation, and don't currently have access to resuscitation dummies for testing purposes either. The masks have a CE and FDA mark on them. I can't comment on whether these have been properly used. The masks are clearly marked with regards to which side should be closest to the person administering breaths. This is vital, as it is a one way filter! I have tried blowing through the filter from both sides and can only feel air coming through when I blow from the operator side. This is very reassuring, but not absolute confirmation that the masks comply with all safety standards required to prevent transfer of bodily fluids to the person delivering breaths. Personally, I feel reassured enough that I would use the masks in an emergency situation, but individual purchasers would need to make that decision for themselves.
