"I've got better things to do tonight than die!"
The quote I used in the subject line of this review is the more famous one uttered by Springer in "The TRANSFORMERS: The Movie" (1986).This figure was originally available in two toy lines: The War for Cybertron: SIEGE and the Generations Select. I avoided buying either one because I did not care for their respective paint schemes. So, when this figure was first announced and then later shown to be a minor retool and repaint of the character to better represent his aforementioned theatrical debut, I was all in! In my humble opinion, Hasbro and TakaraTomy continue to knock the ball out of the park with the Studio Series 86 line!!! This figure is of a good quality build, with fun and easy transformation patterns between each of his three modes: robot, car, and helicopter. The figure's articulation is top-notch! This figure surprised me with a detail that I had never noticed before: the black striping on the bottom of his feet. I looked at his animation model from the 1986 animated movie, and sure enough... it was accurate!

THIS makes this figure sooo much better. Totally worth it! This is what Springer deserved all along. The extra features paint apps and accessories are great!

Pricey @ $55
Not worth the MSRP asking price. Got it for $42 on Prime Day and that I think is the right price. I was waiting for $40 but that was close enough. The refinements on him over the first version is well worth it. He looks great and feels great. He may not be perfect he is exactly what I want in a Springer. I don't care too much for all the included accessories. They can do without most of them and reduce the price instead. His transformation is not too bad. Of the three mode, his helicopter is the best, then robot, then the car, which is the weakest mode. I like him a lot and I think for $42, he is worth the purchase, but definitely not at $55

All Siege Springer issues fixed
when Siege springer came out, I was thrilled. there were minor issues with it- shin transformation joints would not lock, ankles were floppy, and a few parts would pop off during transformationbut overall, a solid 80% perfect figure balancing Generation 1 Aesthetics with modern engineering and articulation. my biggest quibble, which I tried to solve a few ways, was the rotor/sword. the G1 toy had a rotor which would fold up into a sword. Siege springer had a rotor piece which you would stick two swords into.those issues were all addressed, including the transforming sword with SS86 springer. the shin and ankle joints are solid, the parts that were likely to pop off replaced with remolded, stronger items.and I got my transforming sword...took that figure and made it like 30% better, for a total of Hasbro giving 110% on this one

Megatron’s makin his big push and we got to push back
FANTASTIC. Absolutely, fantastic. My favorite version has been the Thrilling 30 Springer from 2013. This is just as good. A remold of the Siege version, but they fixed the leg issue. Lots of accessories and in my opinion, worth the Leader class price. Enjoy

A really good figure
I finally decided to bite the bullet and get this version of Springer. I had gotten the siege version before but was turned off by the paint job, then the wreckers version i heard there were so many qc issues. Overall I'm happy worth this figure of Springer.
