Dries invisible
This is a thinner, less smelly protective coat for all kinds of finishes. It goes on easily but once it dries, it’s hard to keep track of what you’ve covered because it dries completely flat just like it’s supposed to. Best to work very systematically when applying!

Still have not found a better option
Years ago , my husband had our banister repainted and much to my horror, they were the shiniest, glossiest rails I have ever seen. Rather than having them re sanded / painted, I put GF’s, FLAT OUT FLAT and no more shine! I am using it now for faux wood beams that have way too much sheen to look like real wood to me.

Quality Topcoat
This topcoat is great. you don't need to use heavy coats to achieve your desired finish.

Doesn't darken the wood much
No shine, definitely seems to protect the wood giving it a richer look, keeps it light.
