LED Cannon.
I recently purchased this GOR flashlight 🔦, the package was well sealed so my guess was this is a brand new torch which hasn't been used before. The torch body itself looks sturdy enough & the finishing is also good. Quite impressive for an Indian product. Now coming to its performance, I'd like to point out that this flashlight is capable of competing with some of the top rated imported brands that are available in the market today. Now the Light is quite bright at full power, both the flood and beam distance is quite good. The beam easily covered a distance of about 500 meters at full power, not sure if the brightness would reduce after some time cause I kept it on for about 2 minutes or so while checking the beam distance.Amazon has a tendency of exaggerating the lumens & distance covered by a flashlight. For this flashlight too it's advertised that the distance covered is 1500 meters. Practically I don't think it's possible but this flashlight will easily cover a distance of 500 to 800 mtrs which is quite good. I also tried to check the battery 🔋 power itself as to how long it lasts by keeping the torch On at the lowest mode for about 2 hours. The brightness at that mode ( 3rd mode) remains constant and the battery too did not heat up, which is a good sign. Not too sure though if the performance would be the same at the 1st or the highest mode. Flashlights that boast of having high lumens usually heat up if used at full brightness for extended time. I guess I'll have to wait & see how good the battery capacity is, only time will tell.I haven't done any drop test on this torch, I'm afraid of damaging it, the front lense will definitely break as it's made of glass & internal parts too could get damaged.Pros: sturdy body, good finish. Very good flood & beam intensity. Battery 🔋 capacity is excellent (provided you use the flashlight at medium or low mode). Feels like you're holding a flashcannon in your hand.Cons: Overall weight of the flashlight is approx 1kg (with the battery loaded in it), this I feel is a big disadvantage to carry around so much weight if you go trecking or even for a casual night walk. There are flashlights available in the market which have the same level of brightness & weigh barely anything. But still those flashlights could have some other flaws in them. Secondly the price also seems a bit too much. You can get a high performance flashlight for half the price (china make, which again their quantity is not totally reliable. If you are lucky, you might get a product that lasts for a long time). There's no memory to set the flashlight at a particular mode, every time you turn it on, you have to keep toggling to reach the desired brightness mode. For now I'm quite satisfied with this product, hopefully it stands the test of time.
