Hard to get around a tube
Paint protection filmI suffer with a number of health conditions which require me to walk using a walker. I recently spent £1,000 on an amazing new fandangled walker (with bells and whistles) all the way from Sweden with disc brakes and other amazing features to help me walk on the beach, so I needed something to protect the paint work. This film promises to do just that. It arrives in a zip loc bag along with a small squeegee, 2 small wet wipes and the instructions.Firstly you need to make sure the surface you are applying the film to is completely clean from dirt/dust/grease and then dry it; then mix a little washing up liquid into some water - the instructions say one drop per litre, but who has an empty litre bottle lying around the house!? Pour the mixture into any spray bottle (mine was a 100ml spritz bottle); then squirt the prepared area and place the film down carefully. Use the squeegee to remove any air bubbles. The instructions say to wait at least 12hrs for it to dry, and if it doesn’t stick properly, you need to add a bit more washing up liquid to the water and try again.I’m not going to lie, it was hard to wrap around a circular bar and make sure all the air bubbles were out all the way around, but I eventually managed it.As always, I have added a few photos to this review which I hope you find helpful.

Use this to protect paint on existing surfaces - not to protect surfaces from paint.
Use this to protect paint on existing surfaces - not to protect surfaces from paint.Ie: if you have a hallway countertop with a paint that you don’t want scratched, or if you’re repainting chair legs and want the paint protected from chips as people walk past etc then this is for you.think of it like glad wrap that stays on.You need to have a water spray bottle IMO to really apply this well & ensure there are no tiny bubbles. It’s quite robust, so take your time, spray, apply - squidgy with the hand device to remove bubbles, let it dry/ set completely and you’ll be pretty satisfied. Anything like this does a great job IF you do a great job during the application process. No complaints here.

easy to apply and gives a great protective cover
Measuring 20cm x 100cm there is plenty of film for me to add to the vulnerable parts of my cameras, which is why I ordered it.Included in the package is a pack of two wet wipes (to get you started), an applicator tool and a user manual. Applying protective film is easy but to apply protective film properly without air bubbles, folds, creases and edges that are fully stuck down can be a challenge. The user manual provides clear instructions in an easy to follow step-by-step way, so is a nice touch.Applying the film is very easy. I followed the instructions exactly as written and ended up with a very neat finish with no air bubbles or raised edges. When I put screen protectors on my phones, cameras and other tech the results are a bit hit or miss so getting the application spot on first time using this film was a welcome surprise. The DasWas film is thick enough to give good protection but not so thick that it is noticeable (unless you look and inspect up real close) and ruins the look of the item it is stuck to. Once the film is applied it sticks fast. I guess time will tell just how long the film will stay on, however first impressions are good.Overall the DasWas protection film kit is a great product if you are looking to protect the finish on your products, and it comes highly recommended.Disclaimer: I am privileged enough to be part of the Amazon Vine program and as such I have the opportunity request products that I would find useful/potentially buy to road test in exchange for an honest review. Very good.
It’s easy to apply and does a good job. I use it to protect front panel lettering that I’ve applied by transfer. Normally they are fragile, but this film is great for keeping them intact.

Effective And Well Priced
Just to be clear, this film is not designed to protect surfaces from paint - this is a thin protective film applied long term, to stop surfaces being scratched. It does that job quite well against light abrasion.Supplied in a roll, you first need to cut the length required to cover the item to be protected. In my case it was the lower edge of some steel fronted cabinets. The film is self adhesive, and has a paper backing that has to be removed. I prepared the cabinet doors by washing them carefully to remove any muck of dust, then spayed them lightly with clean water containing a little washing up liquid. The film is then applied to the surface, and any air bubbles pushed out using the supplied squeegee. After a few hours any remaining water evaporates, leaving the film firmly bonded to the surface. In the case of my cabinets the film is almost invisible. It seems to do a good job of protecting the surface from scuffs, and I'm pleased. It isn't the thickest film I've seen, but it's good value for money.
