I love that this is an 100% pure and unrefined oil.
I was pleased to try this 'GoHoRaw Batana Oil for Hair Growth,100% Pure Batana Oil Organic Dr. Sebi from Honduras, Rich in Vitamin E, Increases Shine, Scalp and Hair Care for Women & Men, Prevent Hair Loss(120g)'.You get a 120 gram tub, within a card presentation box, with information printed. Under the twist off lid is a security seal, that you remove. The oil inside is semi-liquid and I stir it before use each time. It has got a wonderful smell - a bit like a coffee biscuit. It suggests that a patch test is carried out before using. This I did and even though I have very sensitive skin, I did not get an adverse reaction. I haven't been leaving on overnight, however I am using it as a pre-shampoo treatment. I find that, although a natural oil, that it washes out nicely and easily from my hair leaving it in a smoother condition than it was. I am hoping this will carry on improving my hair.I love that this is an 100% pure and unrefined oil. I would think that it contains more of the Omega's and vitamins than if it has been refined. I don't use a generous amount each time and I this 120 grams should last a fair while for me. The current price of £13.99 is fine, in my opinion, for this brilliant hair aid.

A really versatile treatment
What i like about this product is that it can be used on skin as well as hair, due to the properties of the oil. In hair terms i would suggest this is a pre shower treatment, usually taking 20 - 60 minutes before you need to wash it out.Batana oil is a natural oil derived from the nuts of the American palm tree, Elaeis oleifera, primarily found in the tropical regions of Central and South America. For me, any treatment that can look after my scalp, my skin and my hair is worth the time and effort needed in order to build this into a routine, not every day, but certainly a process worth undertaking with so many benefits in the Batana Oil.The oil is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants, which help repair and rejuvenate damaged hair.It can restore the natural shine and strength of hair that has been damaged by environmental factors or chemical treatments.Batana oil is known for its ability to stimulate hair growth. It penetrates the scalp, nourishing the hair follicles and promoting the growth of healthy hair.By strengthening the hair shaft, Batana oil enhances hair elasticity, reducing the likelihood of breakage and split endBatana oil is an excellent moisturizer for the skin. It deeply hydrates and nourishes, making it ideal for dry and dehydrated skinThe oil is rich in antioxidants, which help to combat free radicals and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Regular use can improve skin elasticity and firmness.Batana oil has soothing properties that can help calm irritated or inflamed skin. It can be used to alleviate conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis. That is some resume, and that is what i like about this product, versatile and natural. With just a small amount warmed in my hands, i only have short hair, so easy to massage into my hair and scalp. The guidance recommends wearing a cap for 20 - 60 minutes which is easy enough, or tied up hair if you are longer.Rinse afterwards with warm water and continue to shampoo and condition in the normal manner. When it comes to skin application, the guidance is that you can mix it with a lotion etc as well, or apply direct to skin, remember oils go a long way, so just a few drops to begin with.Overall very happy to build this into my weekly wellbeing routine.

For skin as well as hair. Odd smell. No nasties, no additives, organic, cold-pressed. Addictive!
I have been using Batana oil for a while now, and I get to like it more and more. I am glad this seller, Go Ho, explains that Batana is not strictly speaking an oil, nor, as described by some sellers, a cream or a gel. I have not tried it on my hair, but I do enjoy using it to massage my legs and feet, and to salve and soften problem areas of hard, scaly or scabby skin. This "ointment" is quite stiff, though it readily dissolves into a heavy oil when in contact with my skin. I imagine it will become even stiffer in colder weather. However, if that becomes a problem, it should be easy enough to soften it by standing it in hot water or placing it (carefully) over an incense burner. If my primary aim was to apply Batana to my hair, I would use the runny version sold in dropper bottles. I have tried to find out what difference in processing leads to the thick ointment in tubs (as here) versus the thin oil in bottles, but so far no-one has enlightened me. Googling, I see that the thicker Batana we have here can also be called a "butter" but there is no further explanation. It is recommended to choose Batana that is organic and cold-pressed, brown in colour (not green!) It is not clear whether it should give off a strong smell (which some sellers optimistically try to describe as of coffee or chocolate). I seem to have got used to the strange scent, and hardly notice it, but my sense of smell is not acute. However, should you be about to go out on a hot date, perhaps you should skip the Batana treatment. Finally, I do rather regret the hyped-up claims as to the miracles Batana can supposedly work on your hair. All the sellers do it. Imo Batana is not exactly snake oil, but exaggerated marketing claims make it sound not far off. Buyer beware!
