It would serve as a cheap substitute for those who want to try a straight razor/open blade razor shave. Can't say how it would compare to expensive ones like dovo or parker. It would rust a bit easily. It would suit anyone, depending on how well they are able to use a straight razor. The heavy metal scales (cover) affect the balance of the razor and make it harder to use. Would recommend cheaper options if simply wish to experiment and try out what a straight razor use/shave feels like.

Update review in June 2024- First bought in 2019. Used it for a good long time. like 3+ years or so. then it started getting rust. (keep it dry after use, it will last for a long long time). and then purchased different other such items. but everything failed. to get the design and weight correct is really difficult. then in June 2024, purchased this very same product again. and absolutely happy with this.perfect weight and perfect design. so easy to use. This thing is a total flop show. It doesn't have the razor inside, leave apart the working. It had no razor inside this metal thing.

You get what you pay for. Product is similar to what you find with local saloon shops or barbers. I see some people saying its not sharp enough. You have to use a blade with this razor, it's not meant to be used as it is. blade not provided, you have to buy them, but that's not not expensive, and should be available in local stores. good luck styling.
