Great Experience
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed building her own night light. Fun to build and many nights of enjoyment.

Who is the target audience?
This is advertised for kids 5 and up. Yet, the 5 year old kids are not mature enough to grasp the concepts of circuitry. Sure, you can put the pieces together with adult help and have a working nightlight. But the educational part of this toy is somewhat lost on the little ones. However, this project is too babyish for older kids. My son, now 10, has enjoyed Snap Circuits for few years now. He has mostly outgrown it, but still finds them fun from time to time. So I got this for him. He liked putting the light together and integrating it with his other Snap Circuits components, but he was too embarrassed to have a night light with dinosaurs swirling across his ceiling. I would say 7-8 year old kids would be an appropriate age group.

Keeps their little minds focused instead of being scared of the dark
Well,, I picked up this night light for my five yr old nephew and he has been enjoying it every night since! He loves the projections and it’s been a nice distraction, from the nightmares he's been having. His mom said that he’s sleeping so much better and is excited to lay down each night. The light show just lets his mind run wild with imagination. sometimes she has to turn it off so he'll shut his brain off and go to sleep loll As for putting it together he had a lot of fun though we thought it could use a few more steps to make the assembly more engaging. We also had a bitof trouble finding the clear support bar taped inside the package but once we figured it out it was smooth sailing. It’s a solid night light making bedtimea bit more enjoyable for the little guy. A+ productReviewing: Night Light for Kids | Includes 5 Light Shows | Ages 5+ | Rotating Night Light Projector

Overpriced light, one and done STEM activity
I was quite disappointed in the Snap Circuits Store Night Light for Kids with 5 Light Shows. My biggest complaint is that for a STEM item, it leaves no room for exploration. It’s one and done, although you can swap out five projection dome patterns. If you want a projection night light, there are far better options. This is not very bright or distinct. It needs to remain plugged into a USB-C source. I’ve seen much more attractive displays at a comparable or better price. If you’re looking for a STEM activity for a 5-year-old, this will be a very limited option. The biggest obstacle is identifying the pieces from a feeble instruction sheet that doesn’t point out the pieces. You have to do some minor detective work to determine which pieces are described. After that, this provides little challenge and no suggestions on how to present this to your toddler as an educational experience. Apparently, this company has a line of Snap Circuit projects available, but they fail to even note that. If this was a first step into an expandable and open-ended learning tool, they missed the mark. Also, at the current selling price of $24.99, it’s not even in the ballpark of other similar items. This has one function. Put the few snaps in their designated places and you’re done. It’s encouraging to a young one that there is a reward in having the completed light functioning, but unlikely that it will retain much interest in assembling more than twice.
