Would not be without this book, only criticism it should give you the modern day replacement for herbs that are now considered too toxic and you cant purchase them in the UK.

Its absolutely like everyone describes, very good book!

This is without a doubt the best Chinese medicine book I have. It covers Chinese medicine theory in a clear way without reducing it to the dry and boring stating of facts typically found in most TCM textbooks. Because of that it can be at times challenging but it's up to you what you make of it. I found that the initial description of each new formula is enough to keep me going for a bit till I feel ready to tackle subsequent discussions. Its packed with information from many angles, not only clinical but also historical to mention one, which is something quite unique to the second edition of this book. If you serious about Chinese medicine, go for it and enjoy!

The quality of the book is very bad for the price the pages are extra thin the cover bends . Very ooor quality worst i ve ever seen in a book. Paper is so thin you need to be extra care ful opening . You even see the print on other side

Full of information. Good for students of TCM and for reference for the practitioner. The soft cover is very nice and durable. Well worth buying.

I've relied on this book extensively for my schooling, board exams, and clinical practice. More than just a formulary, it gives you details of the historical development of formulas, and the TCM-based thinking for how and why they function. Each herb is explained in relation to the other herbs. These insights are crucial if you want to take your learning from just memorization to having a deeper wisdom of how the TCM formulas operate. I had some good herbal teachers in school and this book is rich enough in its details that I can recapture some of the amazing insights I learned from those teachers, through this text.

C'est un livre magnifique qui nous fait plongé dans les mouvements, les saveurs et les relations entre les plantes. Bien plus que ça, l'études des formules, décrite aussi clairement dans ce livre, nous permet de mieux comprendre les principes fondamentaux de la médecine chinoise.
