Amazing clean and shiny hair
I've been using Ethique shampoo (either the pinkalicious, clarifying, or volume) bars for a few years now, and I will never go back to regular shampoo. I was really nervous when i first switched (I switched to try and reduce my plastic waste etc.) because I was worried bar shampoo wouldn't clean as effectively and would leave a residue. I have very fine, thin, oily, straight hair. This shampoo gives me the best lather, even better than conventional clarifying shampoos, even though it has much healthier ingredients. My hair gets perfectly clean without stripping it. I wash my hair every other day and use much more product than is technically needed (I just love a ridiculous amount of lather, but it will clean just fine with much less), and it lasts me about 2 months. I love that they are cruelty-free (a non-negotionable) and caring for the environment!

Never used shampoo bar but super pleased!
No one asked me to write this review, I purposely went here to say how pleased I am with this product! My hair feels so clean and it lathers up so nicely. I’ve never used a shampoo bar before so I was hesitant but super pleased! And I’ve noticed a difference in my “bacne” breakouts where other products left oils and caused major breakouts when I’m not normally acne prone.

The magical fix all Shampoo
I regret not trying this brand sooner. Not only does it manage my "oily hair" (surprise it wasn't oily come to find out) but the amount of breakage I've already seen in 2 weeks has cut atleast by half if not more. There is no residue in my hair now. None, and apparently bottled shampoo was only coating my hair and exasperating the oils in my hair. The shampoo does moisturize enough that I feel I can forgo conditioner on most days but I feel I still need something more after a about 3 washes. For transparency as well, I have ~2' long hair and the 80 wash count is realistically looking like 60 for me at this point. I may update to confirm this later

It does what it's supposed to do: clean your hair.
I am coming from the position of a person using Lush's shampoo bar and wanted to see how these compared. First impression, the bar is much larger and the smell is alright. The smell of the lush products are a lot more sophisticated. The bar gets very slippery. Also, the shower container that this company makes is slotted and the bar kind of molds into the grooves of the container to get stuck. Combine this with the slipperiness and it is very difficult to get the bar out of the container. This product doesn't lather quite as much as the lush bar does but the size makes up for it and I know it will last me a few months. I've been using this shampoo for a few weeks now (with the guardian conditioner bar) and I will say that my hair feels clean but it doesn't do anything special for my hair. My lush bar had argan oil and made my hair very soft and shiny. I'm a wash and go person so I was a little sad that I had to add product to my hair so it didn't look so dull. In summary: it's a good product, the smell is nice, once you manage to pick it up it is easy to use, it lathers well, will last for a long time, and does it's job of cleaning hair but don't expect it to do more than that. This product would be really great for people traveling (less space in your bag and no liquids) or daily use for people who mostly keep their hair up.

Lasts as long as a bottle plus more
During COVID, I started experimenting with bar shampoo. With bottled shampoo, I'm somewhat picky because I know what makes my hair look good and I was hesitant to go to bar if it failed miserably. So staying home made it doable! During the last 3 1/2 years, I have tried a total of 8 different bars - anything from inexpensive ones available at a big-box super store and national small grocery chain to pricey ones from boutique package-free specialty stores. Most of them were around the same size - ranging from about 3.3 to 3.8 ounces (with the pricey ones almost half that) - and almost all boasted that I'd get the same number of washes from them as my usual size bottled shampoo. I tracked it. My bottle lasted 38 washes for my shoulder-length, thick hair. Most of these bars got me to around 30, with the most expensive breaking into bits after only 10-12 uses. This Ethique Pinkalicious bar got to 43 uses before it broke in half (but should still get a few more uses out of those pieces). In addition to being the only bar that lasted as long as the bottle, it gets points for scent - light and short-lived almost like grapefruit - and suds. This and one other bar were very good at lathering up and being obvious that I was covering all of my hair. I get a good amount of lift and find that I don't need to condition as often with this bar. My hair looks great and doesn't get greasy, as some bars resulted in. I've only repurchased this bar and one other. My only very minor complaint is that this is in a thick block, which is probably why it lasted so long before breaking, but it doesn't fit in any of my travel containers until it's been used quite a few times. Not a deal breaker by any means, but something to be aware of if you plan to travel with a new bar. I may try out some of the other bars from Ethique, just to see if anything can top this one!

Not color safe!
As a shampoo, it lathers well, smells good, and my hair is clean.Beware, however. If you have dye in your hair, it will strip it right out. Distressing if you spent a lot of money on that dye. It doesn't matter if you're washing hot or cold. That dye will come out!
