It's okay to laugh at a child's misery(when that's the point of the story).
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books are full of humor and will make you laugh. This collection is 10 paper back books in a cardboard housing. They are the first 10 books in the series. Well be hard to tell if the books will last, as this is going to be down to how the child handles them. These books have a good balance between illustration and text. The illustration are simple is disign and add to the charm of these books. The illustration help to bring the stoty along and add extra humor to the story. If you are reading these book to a child, the diary story form (day to day) gives nice easy places to drop out of story telling for the day.It is hard to say from what age this books can be read from. My 7 year old daughter can read this book herself, but reading ability is going to vary from child to child. When I have read these books I have found them funny, sometimes you know what joke is coming but that can added to how amusing the stories are.My 9 year old daughter loves these books. At £16 for the collection it is great value, we have 3 of these books already and it still cheaper than buying the 7 we don't own.

🤩
Childhood books are the best books! Box is abit flimsy, but I was planning to get a book shelf anyway so it doesn’t bother me

Witty and engaging- adored by my 7&9yr old boys
My kids (9 &7) love these books. They read every night before going to bed and went through this collection so fast I'd have missed it if I blinked! They even read these during the day rather than playing. They're incredibly easy to read- my boys are both in the welsh stream in school and as such, don't officially learn to read in English until year 3 (my oldest was year 3 when we got them and my youngest was year 1), but even with a reasonably basic ability, my oldest read these books with no trouble at all, and used them to teach\improve his younger brother's reading before I even knew what was happening! And that's because the stories are so witty and engaging, they WANT to read them. We've also got the movies, and my oldest has a 'diary of a wimpy kid' dressing gown. Can't recommend these books enough. And if you're wondering what else to get kids of around 7-10 to read, I would suggest the tom gates books, as we're now reading these a d the boys Ade flying through thgthgem just as quick.

A hit
I hadn't read any of the Wimpy Kid books although I'd heard of them. My grandsons mentioned how much they loved them, especially the one entitled Rodrick Rules. I found myself laughing out loud when my grandsons (age 8) were reading aloud to me. 12 books in a (not so sturdy) slipcase. A good addition to their reading library though and lots of laughs.
