Interesting
This MINOYA WARABIMOCHI mochi kit is very easy to prepare. After trying several of these mochi candies, I was excited to try this out for myself. That said, I don't know how they get theirs to come out in square shapes.

So easy to prepare
Never made mochi before, but this was incredibly easy with this set - you just have to add water and mix, simple. However, getting the sticky blob cut into neat squares as shown is pretty difficult and as I shared it with my family, I wasn't too exact on cutting the shapes as it was a challenge. Otherwise, taste wise they are chewy and sweet.

Small & overpriced
This product was so very small for the price I paid. I barely made enough to share with another person. It also did not settle well in its shape or texture. It just looks like a deflated jelly blob.

Super soft matcha mochii
This was super easy to prepare, but because it's a blob, it's impossible to cut them into squares like the listing picture. It's sweet enough for me, but the texture is very soft. Not like the mochi I'm used to which is more chewy, this one is super soft and a little chewy, not firm enough I think. It's an ok treat, but not worth the high price.

New To Me
My main experience with mochi has been those dough-like fruit confections you can buy in stores; and this is very much like that. Kind of a green-tea look, these work best if you slowly add the water until you achieve the right consistency otherwise it has a very unappealing texture and is less pleasant to consume. Otherwise, though, an excellent product.

This was a miss
I wasn't really sure what to expect trying this mochi. I knew it wouldn't be like the kind you find in the store, but I wasn't expecting this mess. As other reviewers have said, the amount of water needed in this are incorrect. It became this swamp green clumpy gelatinous mess that did not hold it's shape. I love everything matcha so I was really looking forward to this, but I think the directions need to be adjusted.

Recipe off, taste is great
Super bummer that the instructions tell you to add the wrong amount of water. I added as directed and ended up with a texture that was off. If I had another couple packets to play with, I'd probably be able to find the optimal amount. That said, the kinako powder taste was exactly what I was hoping for and remembered from living in Japan.Just a note, this isn't the same type of mochi as the round stuff with filling. This is a different type that is cut into rectangles and is very thick and sticky; the kinako powder is supposed to really stick to it. If you've never had it before, you may find the texture off putting. I really like it. Just wish the instructions had the right amount of water on it!

Nice chewy mochi
This mochi mix is really easy to prepare. Simply follow instructions indicated on the pouch and you will achieve the intended result, but perhaps not as pretty as pictured for a 1st timer. The texture is really soft and pillowy chewy and the coating, made out of roasted soy bean flour, smells like peanut powder. The mochi taste is authentic and the sweetness is just right. A truly enjoyable treat!
