I had the same type of pillow that I purchased 15 years ago. That's how long I expect this one to last. It seemed like the old one was getting softer over time. This pillow (I purchased soft ones for both my wife and I) has just the right amount of support to hold you head where it should be when laying on your side. I know that pillows are subjective, but to us - this is the perfect pillow.Many have mentioned the smell. It is a real issue, but with a pillow case on I only notice it when my nose is right against the pillow. I have had it for about 4 weeks now and the smell is fading away.

Was a bit smelly ,still is. We have had latex foam pillows for over 40 years. First time experiencing this. Bought another brand at the same time. It is fantastic. Would buy the competitor again. Should of returned this one for different pillow
