It works with my ZTE MF985
I have used many types of SIM cards on my ZTE MF985 hotspot. Never any problems. Depending on the SIM card, my hotspot will either connect to T-Mobile or Verizon. (USA).Now, I got this new KiwiSIM card. It comes with the SIM card, pin and the ICCD number. The instructions are on a tri-fold card, and you have to read thru each line to find the website to activate the SIM card. I entered in the ICCD number onto the website. It accepts the ICCD number, but you don't get any type of message stating that your SIM card is now active for trial. In fact, it still inactive and it gives you the options to purchase a plan. However, even though the website says inactive, it is actually active for trial. I know this because when I look at my hotspot display, it shows connected "T-Mobile 4G LTE".I was able to use the internet services just fine. Because T-Mobile data services is not that great in my area. The hotspot shows 2 of 5 bars for signal strength (normal for my area). On several occasions, my hotspot lost connectivity to the cloud. Not sure of the cause, but I reboot the hotspot and connectivity is good again. Never had this issue before.BTW: With this SIM card, if you goto the yahoo website, the page comes up as non-english (looks like german).Overall, the SIM card works. Will keep watching for the connection problems.

Useless
I cannot give an honest review on how well this data card works or tell you how good the speed is. I did receive this card but was not able to activate it to get any use out of it. Something neat that I am able to comment on is the fact that this card has the ability to fit in 3 different sized memory card slots depending on the brand of your phone. You can simply snap the plastic card out of the large card that holds t as well as snap off the pre-cut lining around the data card to fit your own personal need. The paper insert that does a great job advertising this 3 day data card does not do a good job explaining set up instructions. A qr code is provided but only takes you to the data card's website. I was unable to locate the tab needed to activate the card. An on-screen display guide does not show up after inserting the card into your phone either.

Easiest and most reliable SIM card of several I have used
I have used 'data-only SIM cards in smart phones as hotspots for nearly a year. After using several different brands of cards and well over a dozen cards I've gained some experience comparing the different makes. The comparisons have been from one consistent urban location, allowing for direct comparisons that should be meaningful. The good news for Kiwisim is that this card and all the other Kiwisim cards have been easy to configure without any glitches, and have offered consistently high speeds. If ease, speed, and reliability are important, at least for my city, Kiwisim is a top choice. It is the only brand that has worked in a 7 year old smartphone without issues. Other makes either don't work at all (no longer supported) or required frustrating time wasted for complex configuration or back and forth with a customer service agent. Kiwisim is a great choice if you are unsure, if using an older device. That said, Kiwisim is generally much more expensive than the competition per GB of data. If value is important then consider the competition, but realize that you are more likely to have configuration hurdles with other brands, in my opinion. At least that's been my experience, but with SIM cards quality of experience can be location dependent or device dependent.

Confusing Activation Process. Prompts for Top Up Right Out of the Box. Not for Dumber IOT Devices.
I got this to use in on of my rarely accessed trail cams. I usually just get data only sim cards to have on hand for this purpose, and typically they are just plug and play. Even when activation is required, it's usually easier than this. I had to activate this using an old cell phone, because my trail cam menu isn't sophisticated enough to allow and easy change to the APN.I then followed the instructions for the "top up" even though I just needed to activate the card. The prompts actually never said the card was activated as it kept asking for top up, but when I put it in my trail cam, it worked.Once activated, the trail cam connected to ATT, which is okay. The connectivity wasn't great, and I experienced a couple disconnects and reconnects which I've not experienced with other cards.Overall, I wouldn't recommend this for dumber IOT devices as the activation process is cumbersome.

Worked fine
Good price for a month of wireless data. Installed easily and worked fine, albeit with just 4g speeds. Affordable.
