My wife is an absolute truffle fanatic, her passion stoked from a trip to italy during truffle season. The smell of fresh truffle is unmistakable and the taste is otherwordly. It's nearly impossible to get the same quality of fresh truffle in the states; they must be used within a couple days or the flavor dissipates rapidly.Canning/jarring truffles is a way to preserve their flavor and intensity longer, but even the best representations are a mere shadow of having a pile of freshly picked, freshly grated truffle on a dish.These, as far as jarred truffes go, are alright, if you temper your expectations. Don't think that this will elevate whatever you're eating to Michelin-star status. It will add some truffley aroma and taste to your dish, but that's about all. It would absolutely not be fair to grade this in comparison to fresh truffle, so I'm basing my review on how it rates to other preserved truffles, which in this case is pretty good.

Great truffles, go a long way, will last a while. Bought to make truffle butter, mixed in with real butter and truffle oil to make a delicious butter pat for the top of some rib eye steaks! Amazing. Have also used some sliced with truffle oil and salt in popcorn, Gourmet!

No clue if the truffles are real, but boy are these good. They taste real. I'm buying another jar. They're divine on deviled eggs.

Everything packaging wise was fine BUT the seal was suspiciously broken and placed as if it wasn’t..

perfect for adding slices of truffle to enhance your food. the jar is much smaller than you would expect but truffle packs a heavy punch in small amounts so this will last if you're not using it like truffle oil. best for topping to garnish or mixing with food.

The paper seal was ripped and the bottle was clearly opened. Oil had even leaked into the box packaging. Not returnable as a food item. We had to throw it away

The truffles are packed in oil, but still have a nice texture to them and somehow don't seem overly oily. The truffle taste is a lighter one, more like a summer truffle. The size of the pieces is nice and can help to elevate any dish.
