Morning Star - Vanilla 200 Sticks and Holder by NIPPON KODO, Japanese Quality Incense, Since 1575

I love the light calming smell of vanilla. This incense burns clean and is my favorite brand.

I have cultural connections to both Japanese and Native American cultures. I'm finding this Morning Star brand of incense quite acceptable for use in my home. Be aware it is "Japanese style" (no wood stick) and made in Viet Nam, not Japan. This vanilla scent is mild and light, very pleasant in summer. It's very calming to me in the evenings, not heavy or overpowering like the pungent, putrid smelling Indian style incenses. I also use MS brand's cedarwood scent when it's colder outside, it's great at getting rid of undesirable indoor odors/mustiness, and has a sharper scent that is still pleasant and calming. When I lived in Hawai'i I discovered Sennenko brand, actually made in Japan...an indescribable calming scent that was so nice... it's hard to find and very expensive. This Morning Star brand is different, but still pleasant and very economical. Next I will try MS sage scent- but my expectations are quite high- I've lived out on the Oregon high desert where I've harvested, dried, wrapped and burned fresh sage, so we will see! 🤔 I wish someone would make a Native American style sweetgrass scent! It's braided and used in those cultures for purification, and smells wonderful!

Mellow scent

Out of around six brands, this has been the best, fast delivery and well packaged.

Yes, it’s vanilla but the lingering scent in my apartment reminds me of toasted marshmallows. I burn a couple of sticks per day and everyone comments on how good my place smells. I’m really sensitive to perfumes and chemicals so this is the perfect incense for me. It’s also a good value for the price, which makes it easy to use regularly.

Nice fragrance and right size to burn the incense in a small living space.

They smell good. but they are only like 4" long and they don't have leads on them so you have to stick the scented ends into the holder and they get stuck. Annoying.

A quality Japanese incense stick and altough it's more expensive (this is large box of 200 sticks) than other similar sticks from the East it is significantly better. Our olfactory senses are highly personal when it comes to incense but if like me you prefer a subtle scent rather than an in-your-face aroma then these are recommended. Moreover, the vanilla scent is very pleasant if not relaxing and helps to ctreate a subtle ambience. Don't be surprised if you become a vanilla addict and end up buying an expensive ice cream machine.
