Really works-looks good, too
My bedroom door wouldn’t stay open and I didn’t want to rehang it. I used the adhesive option to avoid marring the woodwork with screws. Have been using the magnetic device for 6 months now and it continues to work flawlessly. I like the modern design it hardware, too. Clever, well made product that delivers as promised.

Super Close Tolerance and Tricky Magnetic Forces
The media could not be loaded. First, these things are great in that they look super nice and have springs in the receiver to give some cushion. They also keep the door back farther than the standard prongs with the rubber tips.I installed the first one, and it was perfect. Installation was easy-breezy since I had already read that I needed to unscrew the mounting plate from other reviews. The space between the wall and the standard door handle (with twist turn lock) was very close, but not touching. The force was strong, but easy to break with a light tug.THEN the second install was not so easy. The stop was just a little too short in the wrong direction. So I had to make a little circular shim to push it out from the wall about 1/4 inch. And—I supposed due to the very tricky magnetism with the spherical half—the pieces would not stick together when installed. When not installed, they stuck just fine. After trying many different configurations, I figured out that loosening the screws on the mounting plate made the pieces stick together again. Then I got it to stick with just one screw sticking out slightly (and I do mean just one turn). Then the force was so strong, I had to put some finishing nails into the baseboard to keep it from coming off the wall! The long and the short of it is that you may get lucky, like I did on the first install, but be prepared to do a little experimenting and put some fixes in to get it to work if you are not. Now that they are in, I love them; hence the 5 stars.

Safe for cats.
I have been on the hunt now for a magnetic door stops for a long time now and came across these recently. I currently have the safety spring door stops and they work well and are safe for cats as they 'boing' when a cat runs past hitting them although they do not provide the ability to hold the door open to prevent draft slams when the windows are open. At first I considered something like the "fantom stop", but as with any hole in the floor, dirt has the potential to accumulate and cause one to have to maintain them more versus 'set and forget'. Not to mention the more finicky nature of having the correct amount of spacing and not really designed for home residential carpets with medium to high piles made the potential install more complex. There are a lot of other magnetic door stops that stick out from either the wall or the door, but noticing that my cats constantly run around and crash into my existing spring stops make those not a possibility as I fear them getting injured on them. If cats stumble over them, just imagine a human foot kicking one and potentially tearing it out of the wall/door and/or hurting your foot in the process. These magnetic door stops from Cucumis and others that are similar have a wide stance that prevents this from happening and they keep the door open. They were easy to install into solid wood with the given screws. Other scenarios may require different fasteners. They came not perfectly unblemished, but they are a door stop/holder so they will get scratched and dinged anyway. We will see in due time how these hold up, but for now they work great and hold on to the door very well.

Magnetic Door Stopper
Worked perfectly for my back door that kept closing on it's worn. It has a low profile and the adhesive is very strong

Mounting with screws is more exacting than expected, but still a nice solution.
I ordered this item to hold my bathroom door fully open so the robot vacuum can do its thing and not accidentally shut the door on itself. The compact size, chrome finish, and strong magnet make this an attractive solution. No instructions, however, as the Amazon page warns, but the page also makes it clear how to install -- and I've posted an "exploded" photo of the parts to make it even clearer. The hidden plates are robustly threaded into the chrome skirts of each piece, so they are easy to assemble or disassemble.Still, I found mounting both pieces at the bottom of my door and on the baseboard a bit exasperating: despite aligning each piece with care, the "cup" was about 1/16" off, and that was enough to keep the ball-magnet from being held by the receiver-cup. There isn't really any play in the mounting plates, so I removed the smaller plate and "ovalized" the round holes (see red marks on photo) by about 1/16" using a small round rasp. That did the trick, and I'd urge the manufacturer to revise the design to make at least one hole an oval rather than a circle, to allow some micro-adjustments. Nonetheless, I'm happy with this door-catch.

Don't let the # of stars fool you!
I only gave this 3 stars, because in MY situation, they won't work. Yes, I wanted a magnetic door stop, but I have hollow core doors, and if I TRIED to mount them to the door, they would pull right out of the door. The magnet is STRONG! For solid wood or steel doors, they'd definitely work, but not hollow core. I love the concept, but I'm searching elsewhere for something not too strong as these!

Looks great, easy to install and works well
The magnets work great. We have a very old house with sloping floors. The bathroom door would not stay open. The magnet acts as a door bumper and also holds the door firmly in place against the wall. I really like the low profile. Many of the other bumpers protruded several inches from the wall. My application was a narrow hallway from the bedroom to the bathroom and I didn’t want any possibility of stubbed toes late at night. I also like that it can be mounted on the wall instead of the floor. I’d much rather drill into a painted baseboard instead of hardwood floors. There were no instructions. You have to insert a flat screwdriver into the back of the bumpers and turn counter clockwise to open the bumpers prior to installation.

Heavy Duty functional design with great holding power.
When purchased, I took apart, deburred any rough edges, slightly scuffed, and then.... painted to my color or preference. These are heavy and the magnets are strong. You will not be dissapointed.
