Great Product, Highly Recommended
I ended up ordering the BESTEK Portable power adapter/converter (it does both) after researching other “contenders” for my money. BESTEK met the requirements I was looking for in the portable power adapter. My requirements for power adapter/converter were simple-1. Convert from 220V to 110V 2. Have multiple socket adapters so that way I can use the product for different situations/countries3. Have multiple outlets, including USB ports for charging a variety of devices so I only have to pack one charger4. Must be travel sizeThe Box and Components:The packaging was pretty standard-a small box with bubble wrap that contained all the components. Included in the box were the power cord, the charger, and three adapters. The feel of the charger is very solid and a little heavy. The reason for the weight of the charger is probably because of the step down transformer. A step down transformer is how you get from 220V to 110V. Overall, the product does feel well built and has a nice “solid” feel to it.Features: I absolutely appreciate having three different plug adapters included that can be used in different countries. An added bonus is the multiple USB charging ports that is included with two different ampere ratings- 1A and 2.4A. It also has a built in fan, which is a great feature to keep the converter cool. I’ll touch up on the fan further in my review. Finally there is an on/off switch. The trip:When I first used my converter during a family trip, I used it to charge my ipad2 and cell phone using the two of the three outlets and nothing else. I was “breaking it in” if you will. I had no problems charging both my devices at the same time. Then as more devices needed to be charged, I soon had two cell phones, and three tablets plus a battery charger (for the camera) all charging at the same time. The BESTEK power adapter had no problems charging all the devices. The trip was a month long, and I used it every day without fail. As far as heat, it did get warm but that is to be expected as this is a converter. Its physics don’t you know! But there is a fan to keep things cool, especially considering its small size.About that Fan:Another reviewer pointed out that the fan in the converter was bothersome, and even my family members were commenting about the “space ship sound” of the converter. I got used to the sound pretty quickly but it can sound loud if everything else around you is quiet, especially if you have wood or tile floors. I’d say that the fan is a strong point in the product, especially if you have multiple devices charging to keep things cool. Soon enough, my family members got over the fan noise and began to appreciate the converter as it kept their devices nicely charged throughout the trip. Conclusion: This is a great product with lots of charging ports and options for the traveler. Its compact size makes it easy to pack, and the extra adapters for different countries are appreciated. It charged 6 devices (cell phones, tablets, and a battery charger) simultaneously without breaking a sweat and never failed throughout the entirety of my trip. It is compact, easy to pack and has a nice solid feel to it. I recommend this product if you need a 220V to 110V power converter that can charge multiple devices at the same time.

Perfect for employees that travel overseas, this unit safety powers devices that require US standard voltage
Our company has employees that regularly travel overseas, primarily to Switzerland and Germany but some travel globally. Until recently we had been using two items as international power accessories...the Kensington 33117 International All-in-One Travel Plug Adapter and the 360 Electrical 36053 Power Curve Mobile Surge Protector. The surge protector would be connected to the adapter, providing several power outlets and USB slots for our employees to connect cell phones, laptop and tablet power supplies. We had two issues using these items...first, neither provides power conversion from 220vac to 120vac so each power supply connected would need to handle 220vac (excepting the USB ports, which are regulated at 2.1A) and second we had lately been having issues with multiple Kensington Adapters failing in the field. Although the power conversion issue was not a game stopper (laptop power supplies handle 220vac voltage), we wanted to be able to provide employees with a single device that would step the power down to 120vac, provide multiple outlets so various devices could be charged/powered at the same time with surge protection, and have plug adapters available so the unit could be used in countries with differing wall sockets. After some research into mobile power converters, I came across this unit. This unit met all of my requirements, and so we purchased two for testing. Both employees that were issued this device said the device worked as expected, and they were able to charge their laptop, phone and tablet simultaneously. They appreciated that they only had to take a single item for power connection, and that it was easy to use. The only question I received was about the internal fans and whether they were supposed to be running at all times (which they are). Due to the positive response of our employees, we have subsequently purchased six additional units, with plans to purchase six more over the coming months. As you can see in the device photos, the unit provides three standard US outlets (NEMA 5-15R) and four USB ports (two powered at 1A for standard cell phones and two powered at 2.4A for tablets and larger cell phones like the Note). The default connector on the power cable is for outlets such as those in Germany, and there are three adapters provided for outlets in the US, UK and Australia (the company indicates the adapters will cover over 150 countries). Unfortunately, I was unable to find the product or support page on the Bestek website. I'm not sure whether the item has been discontinued; however, the product insert provides all necessary information. There is a 1 year warranty on the device. It's worth noting that the maximum draw is 200 watts, so you cannot use this to power a hair dryer or other like devices; this unit is primarily for powering/charging computer and other handheld communication devices.Overall, this is exactly what we needed to provide employees with the ability to power multiple devices in other countries, and to do so without having to worry about whether the power supply for their device handled 220vac. The unit is well made, compact, and with a chassis sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of constant TSA checks and global travel.
