Q: Is this a summer robe or winter robe?

It works nicely as both! The fabric is thin enough for summer but the fabric is nice and thick enough to use in the winter. The robe is also long and is just above my ankles so it can cover my legs if it's cold. I live in Santa Barbara but also took it traveling while in Europe during the fall and it was great. I hope that helps you.

Q: How about packability? going to Europe and want a robe that won't take much room in suitcase.

This was a gift for my mom. She says it's extremely light weight. She wears it in the summer. Takes up about as much room as you would expect of a light weight robe. Not near as bulky as the big cotton ones.

Q: What is th elength of th erobe - small and medium?

I'm sorry I cannot give an exact measurement, but I am just above 5'4" & this robe (I have it in 2 colors) hits me about mid-shin, maybe a tiny bit below that. It is very comfortable & actually warmer than it appears. :) It washes well & keeps true to color & shape. Enjoy!
