Q: How does it hold up with top off? Is it a tight enough fit so that the wind does not destroy it?

It’s secure! I used it all last summer without any issues.

Q: What tools do I need to install?

You will simply need a Torx50 tool to unscrew the 6 screws on the Jeep Wrangler JL cargo tub edge to mount the 6 tie-down D-plates. That’s all you need. Hope it helps.

Q: I can’t get the strap close to the tailgate tight. It hangs pretty low. There just isn’t enough velcro on the strap. is there a way to fix?

Your installation might be a bit off. No worries, please make sure the 2 side openings are center to and under the roll bar base first, and adjust the 2 straps near the back seat so that the cargo cover is not shifted off center. And then you can attach the velcro on the tailgate end straps gently and balance them in both sides . You can Google “GPCA JL cargo cover Lite installations” video and follow the steps. After all, it’s a soft cover that can be easily folded and free up your cargo space when needed, it’s not going to be as flat as a hard lid, similar to comparing a soft top to hard top. Q: Does this come with the necessary screws to secure this to the cargo area?

The GPCA JL cargo cover PRO utilizes the Jeep factory hardtop screws to mount the Tie-down D-plates for the strap system, so there is no extra screw with the pack. But you can purchase the GPCA quick release anchor PRO as an upgrade to the factory screw. Hope it helps.
