HATCHGreen Chile Stew with Pork (Pack of 6)

6 pack of cans came well-packed and no dents of any kind.I heated up a can on the stove, to which I just added a bit of black pepper, and poured it over some rice.The Green Chile flavor is really good! Mild heat, but delicious. The potatoes were in there in decent quantity,as were a fairly, good amount of pork. These were lean, whole pieces of pork, not ground up in the gravy, andlike I said, a fairly decent amount to boot.For a can, this is a pretty good go to meal with tortillas or rice! A little more pricey, but I think you get whatyou pay for here.

The chili is not accented by colors like in the photo on the can. It is most a roast pork color stew with a sauce that is thick probably from stewing for long period. The instruction recommend garnishing with cilantro, IIRC. This all about visual appear, with which I agree. The flavor is nice. I am accustomed to spicy foods and the heat in this chili is borderline. I bout a six pack and the latest that I at, I added ~1.5 cups of jasmine rice. That small amount of unspiced addition actually took the spice level down top a level that was not optimal.Overall, I believe that the price is a bit, just a bit high. But in the world we live in today, a chili like this is a welcome change from day to day boring dishes and because it is canned, it has a long shelf life. Buy this product and be prepared to tweak it a little to meet exactly what you desire. $5~6 bucks seems high, but when you consider that it cuts out a few minutes of knife work and a couple hours of cooking and checking the cook, it is still a value.

This stuff is really good .. ! It is flavorful and reminiscent of the home made chili I've had from New Mexico. I recommend this to anyone who appreciates good tasting stew. A word of warning, it is spicy . Spicy in a good way.

Not spicy, not interesting. But I can choke this down. Keep this around for emergencies (there are hurricanes where I live, being prepared is something we all think about).

I really like this stew. The heat level is just right at medium hot. You get 6 cans. A lot easier than making it yourself!

A bit spicy so I add water and make two meals out of one can. This soup is mouth-wateringly good.
