Safari Ltd.Farm Babies TOOB - Figurines: Donkey, Pony, Goat, Lamb, Horse, Cat, Corgi, Pig, Chicken, Holstein, Bunny - Educational Toy Figures For Boys, Girls & Kids Ages 3+

I wanted my toddler to have some nice, realistic animal figures, and looked at the Learning Resources Jumbo Animals sets and Schleich figures, but those are larger and come at a much higher cost per figure, so I thought I would buy a couple Safari Ltd TOOBs and see what I thought. If I weren't happy with the quality, I would buy Learning Resources and Schleich figures in the future. But no need! I love these. There are a few small painting flaws on a couple of the figures, but for the price, I am MORE than happy; I am thrilled! I will definitely buy many more sets as my daughter develops more specific interests (anything from primates to insects to undersea life to animals from specific continents/climates to dinosaurs... and so forth). Also, not only do I enjoy them, but more importantly, my daughter enjoys them! I only took out a few at once, but she immediately examined them, brought them up to me (as if to ask what they were), and carried them around with her looking at them. I will say she is much younger than the target age... She is 21 months, and they very clearly say for ages 3+, but for me this is a case of knowing my child... She has never been much of a teether/mouther/chewer, never really put things in her mouth she shouldn't, so at 21 months, I am not worried about her playing with them. I would not leave her along with them in the backseat of the car, just to be on the safe side, but as long as I am in the same room, I am just fine with her playing with them.

I use these and other Safari Ltd. animal toys to aid in my foreign-language teaching. They are a perfect visual aid. I don't even teach children...I use them with adult learners. It doesn't matter, even the adults get a kick out of learning the name of each cute animal and associating it with the correct figure. These animals were a life saver when I was running out of ideas to teach vocabulary words. Once the animal names were learned, we could make lots of action sentences by playing with the animals, too. It really helped the student to have hands-on experience, they were able to retain the names of the animals much better this way.

These animals are great for imaginative play. We bought these for our two year old son along with the Doug and Melissa Fold and Go Barn and my son will finally sit down and play for more that 5 minutes!! they are very durable and they have a great selection. It is one of our faves.

Excellent quality but smaller than I thought. If your child is still putting things in their mouth, these are definitely small enough to choke them. I bought for an 18 month old and will hold off until older. The recommendation of 3 years is valid.

You can find the same brand for much cheaper at Michael’s. The toys are fun and incite imaginative play in the youngins.

This is cute. Ordered for my 3yr old son. I expected the animals to be the standard size (based on Targets plastic animals), and they were NOT. They are actually TINY animals, no larger then an inch long each- but my toddler didn't mind. The animals look good though for being small, good details. Def could be choking hazard for kids 1-2yrs old who put everything in the mouth- would not recommend for babies that young.

Just bought these and LOVE them. My son loves them. I will be using them as decorations/toppers for a farm themed cake.Great price and great quality.I will probably end up buying more.
