Absolutely blown away by sound, build quality and value for money.
I almost spent twice as much as these babies on alternative rock speakers, before settling on the OSDs. Then, I wondered if I’d regret not going for the more expensive ones.I figured I had nothing to lose, as I could send them right back if I wasn’t happy with them.Well, I am more than happy. Right out of the box, I was like, wow... really? I’m powering them with a decent, but relatively inexpensive, Sony amplifier and they sound amazing. (I also went for a good quality, thick, 16 gauge speaker cable - good quality cable makes a really big difference). The separation of instruments and the placement of vocals is very appealing. They’re tight across the range, never getting muffled, with a defined bass, crisp highs and an open mid-range. At this price point, I expected the separation to be a little muddy, bass perhaps a little soggy when pushed, and highs a little bright but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. They’re clean and crisp and a pleasure to listen to.I have them at the back of my pool, facing towards the patio. They’re about 30ft apart and the soundstage is nothing short of amazing at this price point. To float on a floatie in the pool with pool-level music is also quite special.I expected them to be made out of some kind of hard plastic material but they’re made from a rubber-like material and appear to be very well constructed. These speakers have exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be happier.Buy with confidence.

Highly recommended from an audiophile
I have built many pairs of Hi-Fi speakers in the past and invested many thousands in speakers and audio gear so my ears are very critical of quality musical sound and these speakers blew me away. Not only are they a great for the price but they sound so good. I'm driving them with a 100W Fosi Class D Bluetooth amplifier in my backyard and could not be more thrilled with this combo. The sound is rich, bright, crisp and detailed. For this quality of sound reproduction, I would have expected to pay 2, 3 maybe even 4x the price of these speakers. I do have an outdoor subwoofer in line with these speakers so the bass is a bit more robust than if I only had these speakers. The speakers are well built and hopefully will last for many years. Some complained they don't look very "natural" but I think they blend in just fine. For those that are not very tech savvy, these are easy to install, just connect to the speaker wire connected to whatever amplifier you choose to drive them.I think these speakers are a steal. Highly recommended.

Great upgrade from a brand I’d not heard of!
Bought these to replace my several year old Insignia rock speakers I’d purchased from Best Buy. Was hesitant as I’d never heard of this brand before, but the reviews seemed good enough so I figured I’d give them a try. Overall construction seems ideal, imagine they’ll hold up for many years. They were bigger than my old speakers and rated for 200W so I knew they handle what my receiver could throw at them. If you’re going to have over a 50’ run to either of these, opt for the 14G AWG wire, if under 50’ run you can use 16G AWG wire. These sound better than my old speakers did, more clarity and bass. For anyone who says the sound quality is lacking, I’d bet it’s due to their AV receiver. I’m using an older 90W Sony amp that I had from needing to upgrade my inside setup. It only pushes 90W per channel but sounds great and has more volume than I’ll ever need outside. Don’t forget to tweak your receiver settings for distance, boost the channels of it has that option, and set you bass and treble settings for optimal sound (I had to push the bass to 9 and set treble at 4, speakers are ~40’ apart and the stereo field is great!).

Great value and performance, but...
Installed these to cover an 18x18 patio area and had low expectations. They have a surprisingly full sound, clear highs and decent mid-bass. For 5.25" speakers they are quite impressive. They are built solidly and blend right in with the landscaping. I would recommend these.Update: October 2013. One of the tweeters stopped working and I figured they were out of warranty, so I cracked it open. What I found was bad quality control. The woofer cone had two holes that were incorrectly made to pass the tweeter wires through. They were not plugged when the holes were made in the correct location. This allowed water to enter the entire enclosure and everything was rusted. I bring these in for the winter, so they are exposed to the elements for about 6 months in a partially shaded location.I contacted OSD and they were very helpful and offered an RMA replacement, but I did have to pay almost $20 to ship the defective speakers to california, even though I showed them pictures of the problem. I knocked off one star for this and I hope the new set lasts longer than 18 months.

Great bang for buck
I wasn't expecting alot from these speaker but wow, they sure did surprise me! I am not a big audio buff but I can hear the difference when a cheap speakers sounds tinny. These speakers have a deep full sound and provide just enough bass. There are good at low volume and I have never heard them distort at higher volumes. I agree that they might not pass as a real rock but they are small enough to hide and tuck behind your landscaping.Time will tell on the durability but they seem well built and I like that it has a sealed pig tail for connections instead of terminals. For installation I used 14 awg landscaping lighting wire and use a waterproof shrink wrap butt connectors. I then put another shrink wrap tube over both shrink wrapped connectors. Connection seems strong and very waterproof. I ran the landscaping wire thru a basement window than made another connection to regular 14 awg speaker wire. I put on some bannana plugs and plugged it into my older denon reciever.Overall, very impressed. I live in the northern Midwest and plan on having them exposed to all the seasons so we will see if they hold up.
