Dyson Genuine Extension Hose, 917250-04

Fellow DC25 owners (and all those with relatively short suction hoses) know the poorest design aspects of these models are1. no (sturdy) handle on actual frame2. terribly inefficient hose lengthThis hopes helps mitigate at least SOME of its design flaws.PROS:• fits perfectly and seamlessly• adds considerably length to the hose, allowing you to reach areas without having to lug the whole vacuum around as we normally had toCONS:• doesn’t fit or attach to the vacuum so you have to store it somewhere and carry it whenever you want to use it.• not as fluid as one long hose. The plastic coupler in the center (once you attach extension to original) adds some noticeable weight to the whole hose.All in all, definitely a worthwhile upgrade IF you use your Dyson to clean ceiling fan blades, hardwood floor books and corners, or even your car.

I'd read some reviews on Amazon that these tools don't match Dyson quality. It made me hesitant to purchase this product because an expensive tool like a Dyson should be well taken care of. That means using high quality parts, cleaning it regularly, etc. I have to disagree that these feel cheap. I found the plastic solid, the clipping mechanism secure and confident, and in comparison to the OEM Dyson parts I didn't see a quality difference. I used the new set of tools to clean my mother's car which was filthy. The flexible hose was brilliant for easily maneuvering around the tight confines of a car. The crevice tools neatly slipped into cup holders, door pockets, and along controls. The small brushes agitate dirt out of the carpet and up into the suction field. Overall I'm very pleased. One accessory I'd like the manufacturer to consider adding is a wall mounted tool holder. A vertically oriented one to sit next to my hanging Dyson would be wonderful.

We own the DC39 Animal cannister, and the DC41 Animal upright. I bought one just to make sure the hose would work and fit on both, and they do. The DC39 has a shorter hose, and this is without a doubt a darn good adaptor. It helps in the higher places without having to lift the ball cannister. I love how it stretches out like the DC41 hose. I was a little leary at first of stretching it out, but it can take it. And with the DC41, it works the same way... the hose already stretches out pretty good, and this really gives it a chance to go farther. We ended up buying another so that both of them have one. At about 14.00 including shipping...how can you go wrongUPDATE 08/04/12..This hose adaptor still works great. I ended up leaving it on the DC39 Animal cannister Dyson all the time. You really can't tell it's on there when moving around, and when you get to a spot that you need that extra length..it's already there. Great investment for both the DC39 and DC41, especially the DC39 Animal cannister. It hasn't kinked, stretched out too far, bent the wrong way or anything. It's short length is deceiving and works great. When you stretch it, it is surprising how much more length you have.

Even though this extension hose is for the DC24, I took a chance. I had read a couple of other reviews of people who used it for the DC25, and IT WORKS for me! It fits perfectly and clicks into the hose end, and it even clicks into the tool end. However, it is fairly easy to disconnect the tool unintentionally, just by lightly touching the button, especially when you're stretching and reaching in awkward ways. But the difference of having the extra length makes it totally worth it. I wish I'd bought it sooner! It's pricey at nearly $30, but it's a real Dyson part, not a knock off.

Great quality hose delivered in authentic retail Dyson Packaging. I have mine attached to a V6 vacuum and I believe that it is not compatible with the new style attachments of the V8.After reading the reviews I was worried that the internal spring of the house would be burdensomely strong but I found that not to be the case. It strikes just the right balance between being easy to extend and quick to return to its compact form.Dont waste time with third party products. The price of this is definitely reasonable for its quality and ease of use.

We purchased this extension hose shortly after getting our Dyson DC40 vacuum.The hose is sturdy and well-made. It attaches securely to the integrated hose on the vacuum and releases with ease with a press of a button. I really like how the Dyson folks designed it with an automatically retracting feature that allows it to be stored in a compact way when not in use. At first I wasn't sure how the springy, self-retracting feature would work while using the hose. It appeared as if it would work against you while vacuuming.This was not the case. The Dyson engineers designed the hose with a perfect balance between complete range of motion and extension while in use, along with self-retracting compactness when not in use.Amazing design and usefulness!
