Very solid boot. Runs a bit large.
Bought a 12. An 11.5 would have been perfect. Boot held up well on a 20+ mile hunting trip. Feet never hurt and only downside was poor traction on rough terrain, which I expected from a work boot. Water proofing worked great too going through shallow streams.

A misunderstood boot. If I wanted Red ....
A misunderstood boot for sure. If I wanted to splurge for Red Wings or other name brand boots in the $300-350 range, that is what I would have purchased. This is a semi-serious work boot in the $150 range. If you are a destroyer of boots these are not for you. To wear around the house and to go shopping in, to have good ankle support at age 66 makes these nigh on perfect.Recently I retired and no longer need anything more durable than these. I only purchased these for two reasons. Better support than sneakers and the hipster look that seems so popular. If I get 3-4 years of good comfortable service from these, wearing them an average of 3-4 hours daily, then these boots are money well spent. If they disappoint or exceed my expectations I'll mention it here in a update. Can't maintain Red Wings or other, often resoled premium brand boots for $40 a year. Their crepe type soles don't last any longer IME.The pros of the boots:Extremely comfortable. The leather is soft but not limp, and is easy to get on and off because the leather gives a little. Fits well across the upper side of the arch. Width is spot on, no pinching or slipping. The heel cup and arch are becoming comfortable after wearing about 5 times. There is plenty of room in the toe box without being sloppy.Cons:The size 13 is just a bit too large. I'm close though, a thicker sock makes them just right.Summary is simple, these boots fit great, are comfortable within a couple weeks and now that I'm retired look great at a fair price. Just as important as toughness in my new life.Update 5/23/2021:Have worn these now for 6 months and for approx. 150 hours. Still my go to choice for wearing for an day out and about. These are very comfortable boots. Soles show just a bit of wear and still have not had to polish these. Small scuffs rub out nicely with my Kiwi horsehair brush. Leather is still soft and supple but supports itself nicely. These boots get lots of compliments . Go figure.UPDATE: 03/11/2022Wore these over the winter quite a bit. Still Comfortable, Have Been Durable, Still getting lots of compliments.UPDATE: 10/15/2022Wore a few times over the summer, they still what I wear when I know I will be walking a lot. Very comfortable on long days running around. Winter is about here and I have worn them on cool days. My feet stay warm with Gold Toe boot socks. Update again next spring.UPDATE 10/15/2023It was a hot summer and rarely wore these. Got them out the other day and brushed off the leather. Still looking good but could use some conditioning. Still very comfortable. Still get compliments. Here's to warm feet this winter.UPDATE 1/2/2025Been wearing these some since September. Looking forward to wearing these in the upcoming cold snap. Conditioned and polished the uppers, still looking good. They still get compliments because they still look good.

2-year post purchase: how they held up
I'm writing this review for someone who may be on the fence about purchasing these boots, I've owned these boots for about 2 years and I wanted to give my review on these boots to maybe help somebody decide whether they should or shouldn't. I will start by saying I work for a county, doing wastewater treatment, doing things like crawling down into manholes, being in ditches where I am digging, lots of walking, standing for most if not all day. My job is not extremely hard on boots, but it can be brutal if you choose the wrong boots, so you always want to make sure depending on your job if these will be the right boots for you and I would say for my experience that these boots are right for me and my line of work.Durability: after owning for 2 years the boots still look and feel great, the leather has held up very well and does not show any signs of ripping/cracking/chipping. The only thing on the boots I have had to replace is the laces just because they are a little too long for my liking, it seemed like they were easy to snag on something, and make your boots come undone. The only real signs of damage I have on my boots are a little bit of fraying coming from the stitching but that is not a big deal to me, the boots stitching has not came undone it's just a little bit of stray fibers.Fit: true to size, feel very secure, and the waterproofing works well. If you are standing water that goes up above your ankles you will have a little bit of coverage but not a lot since that's where the lining stops.Heel height: may give you an extra inch of heightFunctionality: waterproofing works well, these are good boots for somebody who hasn't owned a pair of work boots before (they are not heavy). My only recommendation is after the first month or two mark go ahead and get yourselves a pair of insoles, not because the insoles in the boots are flat, but just because it's better for your feet (pro tip from someone with feet problems)Comparisons to other brands: when comparing these boots to other brands that I have purchased, with similar mock toe styles here's what I have to say.Brazos- Even though way cheaper do not last near as long .Thursday boots- honestly these are just costume boots, not made for work.Red wings- very comfortable, but if you're going to spend that much money just buy a pair of thorogoodsThorogood's- probably the best mock toe boots you can get for a higher premium price. How do the Carhartts rank? One of the better budget boots, definitely not as good as your Red wings / thorogoods, but definitely a lot better than the Thursdays, and Brazos.Cleaning: if you are somebody who does not clean their boots then this part is not for you, but I know there are people like myself who do like to take the time to clean and dress their boots every once in awhile just to protect them. Cleaning them is super easy there isn't much I haven't been able to get off if I wash them the same day that I really get them dirty, I just use warm soapy water (dawn is the best) and a green Scotch-Brite pad, and that tends to usually get everything off.To sum it up: a great pair of budget boots that should last you for a little while, the real only main contingency is the kind of work you do. I have owned these boots for 2 years and they have held up perfectly for me.

Looks Great!
I purchased these boots after seeing them online and liking the style of them. They seem to fit pretty comfortably. I read previous reviews and saw that the sizing runs large. I typically wear a size 12, but ordered 11.5, and they fit great.

Very solid
These are good. I love everything about them. But ultimately the only thing that matters is how long they last. We’ll see…
