Gitanjali contains Tagore's musings that come in the style and tone of a mystic. For some, it may seem like an obvious homage to God's glory. For the deep ones, a little more probing and interpretation is required to decode 'the Beloved and the Devoted Lover' mood and access the simple and pure truth uttered in poetic magnificence.

A must-read book. The writings have all necessary morals for life that you should learn and practice.A book in which stories and poetry are like teachers what you need more. Reading this will surely give you immense peace.

Not as expected
The book is so small. I should have looked into the product description much deeper while buying but I ordered it in haste. I found that the other editions are long and even contain the pictures of original writing along with the translation. In the reviews section provided, images and reviews by customers about all the editions are merged and in some cases, we can't identify which one belongs to the given product.

Excellent variation of translation on a classic cycle of poetry.
Very wonderful lyrical translations by William Radice, restoring the songlike quality to the Song Offerings. A re-arrangement of the order of the poems back to the original intended by Tagore, before editing for English. The sonnets later in the cycle are slightly awkward when translated - translating sonnets is always difficult. Overall, I would not consider a non-Bengali reader to have really absorbed Gitanjali till he or she has also read this new translation. The commentary on the text is also very good to read. This is an important work and deserves much attention.

Writing by Great poet and author from East Rabindranath Tagore
I recommend this book because in his acceptance speech at the Noble Prize ceremony is so relevant today. He clearly belonged to the world and Humanity. He was a humble man but his vision of humanity was not confined to East. He invited West and East to join hands. I recommend reading this and his life story. His stories should be read to the children and his poems and work should be studied by the students.

Mystic poetry
Gitanjali is a collection of beautiful mystical love poems by Tagore. This edition was for a friend and I'm not sure I really liked the way the poems were presented (more in a prose format) but the words and feelings are still there. Maybe find a copy with better presentation but worth reading however it comes.
