Weber Q100 & Q200 Igniter Kit part # 80462

My original lighter bit the dust, so I got this to replace it. My old one was of a different construction (looked like a spark plug...) but this is the new design and it fit everything just fine.It also worked the first time, and every time since.Not hard at all to install, except you have to move the 'guts' of the grill out to do so, which is a mere annoyance.The instructions might have been better written, but that's pretty par for the course. If I could install this, anybody can.Oh, and you are going to want to look at the fittings in your grill to find the right wrench--which was rather small--so it might not be in your tool kit if it's limited.

I got a hand-me-down Q from my parents, which was missing the ignitor. This kit replaced the ignitor as well as the wiring and spark housing. I would have just purchased the ignitor as the wiring and housing were in good condition, but unfortunately it's pretty difficult to find the exact replacement ignitor that would fit the original wire connections. It looks like the original ignitor was designed with two flat connectors, but many replacement ignitors have a round and a flat connector, rendering the existing wiring useless without some modification.So if you have a Q1 or Q2-series and need a new ignitor, just get the kit and be done with it. Works great and fits perfectly in my Q120.

This is a direct replacement for the older igniter on the Weber Q-series grills.This has a red, smaller, manual push button start with a hard click.Some of the newer Q-series grills have the larger silver button with the softer push button start.Match it to your grill and keep it the same. The removal and replacement is rather simple with just a screwdriver.Pro Tip: After you pull your old one off. Hit the surrounding area with a wire brush while you're at it.

I just refurbished my 10 year old Weber Q 200. I bought this ignitor kit, a grate, a burner and some new hubs all from Amazon. Apparently Weber made some improvements and modifications to various parts. I noted the burner fit the same but was a better design. The grate was exactly as the original. This ignitor is also a better design but did not fit my grill. The red button mechanism in the original, fit through a hole on the front of the grill and screwed into a threaded PVC tube to hold it in place and act as a conduit for the wires. The newer model snaps into the hole and forgoes the conduit. I was unable to use the new red button as it did not fit the original hole. So i used the old button assembly and connected it to the new ignitor. Fortunately the button assembly still worked perfectly. The actual ignitor, while different from the original, did fit my grill housing and is actually a better design. In the end, it lights the grill perfectly and I am very pleased with the refurb.

This replacement works very well. You do have to remove the burner in order to replace this part. How difficult that will be depends completely on the condition of the single bolt holding down the burner. For me this involved a failed attempt with a stripped bolt remover and having to drill out the bolt. Once that was out installation was painless with the great instructions and I secured everything back together with a 45 cent 3/8" hex stainless screw that Weber should used at the the factory.

The starter that came with the grill never worked well. After this new one was installed, it starts the first time, every time!

I broke the Ignitor on my grill the day I purchased the grill, it still worked but would not stay in the socket while lighting... the new one got here just a couple days after I ordered it, it was the exact item that came with the grill, easy to install nicely packaged and promptly shipped, priced right as well, the best part is I didn't have to burn a 1/2 tank of gas running all over town looking for one!
