Thai Sweet Basil Fresh 14 Oz

Very fresh, fast delivery. Amazingly tasty. I bought this with some keffir lime leaves from the same supplier to make a low FODMAP version of Panang curry. Wow, what a huge bag of Thai Basil - at least as big as a gallon ziplock bag, and gently packed with beautiful fresh herbs. The scent was amazing as soon as I opened it. I cut a few stems, and put them in a mason jar of water on a window sill, and they have revived beautifully. I froze the rest after rinsing and drying it, and even after freezing the taste is superb. It does darken a little with freezing, so not suitable for salads, but it is wonderful stirred into dishes at the last minute before serving, giving a flavor just like fresh Thai basil.As an aside, the fresh keffir lime leaves are also fantastic, and the seller sent a 2oz bag of birds-eye chillis - amazingly hot, but absolutely essential in a good Panang curry. Well done to TastePadThai, I will be ordering again without hesitation.Edit: Just an indicator of how fresh these herbs are - I have them rooting in a mason jar. I don't intend to grow them long term (too much time in my busy life and I would rather buy fresh from this seller), but I have previously rooted African Blue Basil and Italian Basil from cuttings, just for fun. I took 6 inch cuttings and put them into a small mason jar of water. Within 10 days they were rooting, and now at about 12 days, they look like the photos attached. Even the flowering cuttings rooted, as you can see. Very high quality herbs.

I was a little reluctant to order fresh herbs during the hottest June we've ever had, but this basil arrived in perfect condition. I was surprised at the generous amount of product and have already started to root them in water and plant them so I don't waste any of these lovely plants. I would not hesitate to order from or recommend these sellers. Thank you so much for a pleasant and successful shopping experience.

We were concerned when this product was first delayed being shipped, and then further delayed in transit. When I opened the package I was expecting a decomposing mess. I was very pleasently surprised to find the basil to still be fresh and fragrant despite the delays. This company obviously knows how to ship it to preserve its excellent properties. The basil was very fragrent and tasted wonderful. I will be buying from them again.

Arrived incredibly early (a week ahead of scheduled delivery) and very fresh. That caused a minor storage problem, but that's much more welcome than any alternative.Being my first time ordering ingredients online, this put the storage life of similar ingredients to shame - something that absolutely shouldn't be an issue.Recommended despite the obvious environmental issues as opposed to obtaining locally. Obviously, if you need it, grow your own, but in the interim, order here. I don't know what else to say.

The Thai basil arrived fresh and in good condition. It also arrived sooner than was promised. This was an excellent experience, and we're very impressed.

This is supposed to be Thai basil and it is nothing but purple stemmed regular basil. It absolutely has no flavor of anise or licorice whatsoever! On that note I will use it but if you are looking for the same they sell in any of you local Asian grocery stores don’t bother with this. Very disappointed in the flavor, but received a huge amount of decent basil.

Have bought from this seller before with good results, but this batch was not fresh at all. Straight in the freezer before it gets worse.

I usually do not create feedback comments concerning products I purchase from Amazon, because I simply purchase soooo many items; Amazon is a super-great shopping site. But, I received this Thai Sweet Basil today, and I am so impressed with this basil, that I am composing this short feedback. Basil arrived via U.S.P.S., packaged well by vendor. I could smell the aroma before opening the package (a stiff-paper mailing envelope) then when I opened the envelope, the aroma was exceptionally strong and aromatic. ALL of the basil was fresh and green; NO wilted or brown leaves, a beautiful green and red color. Then, when I opened the two (2) clear plastic bags housing the basil---WOW. With my being new to composing and cooking Thai dishes ( to do it right, one must purchase the correct ingredients, which is expensive at the outset) I had not previously been exposed to Thai Sweet Basil---and I thought I had something, purchasing fresh "standard" in the grocery store. This basil is exceedingly aromatic, almost overpowering with intensity, but in a good way.
