eTrainer Passive Assist Motorized Trainer, Grey

I purchased the HCI eTrainer in May 2016 for my mom, who is disabled due to side effects of long-term severe sleep apnea, plus she has a history of chronic "venus insufficiency" (poor blood circulation) in her legs.I had been looking for an exercise bike, similar to a recumbant bike, but where the bike itself would do "all the work" in order to keep my mom's limbs from stiffening and to keep the blood flowing in her extremities.I looked at products costing as much as $6,000-$7,000, but even these higher priced exercise machines were not going to meet my mom's needs.As soon as I received the eTrainer, which I found on the internet after extensive searching, I knew right away that this was the perfect exercise machine for my mom.First of all, the unit is solidly built... it felt very substantial, not flimsy! That was very important to me, and the careful design of this device was evident. I've described this unit to others as being "built like a tank!"Beyond that, it is easy for my mom's caregivers to work with the eTrainer. They simply strap her feet in, and then she just has to hold onto the soft, padded handles. The hands and feet portions of the bike can be independently operated using the controls for the two separate motors.Speed and time can also be set on this unit.Originally, we exercised my mom every other day for about 20-30 minutes, but now she gets the exercise everyday.In combination with other treatments (use of a cpap machine, which had been a struggle to get the "right mask," plus hyperbaric treatments, which are not covered by insurance), I firmly believe the HCI eTrainer has prevented my mom from additional decline in the past two years.I wish my mom could still exercise on her own, but that's not physically possible anymore... so the HCI eTrainer is the "next best thing!"The only time I've had any problem with the machine, I contacted Customer Service at HCI, which was completely responsive and addressed the concern quickly and efficiently. At a time when good customer service seems to be a thing of the past for many companies, HCI still "gets it." Kudos to them!If you or your loved one is unable to exercise on his/her own, the HCI eTrainer could well be exactly what you need!I very highly and unequivocally recommend the HCI eTrainer!

My wife and I purchased this item for her mother she uses it 3 to 4 times a day and likes the way she can change the speeds the unit was easy to assemble and is very well constructed there was a problem getting it shipped since i have both my PO Box and street address on my ship to since many items ship postal service. Turns out the PO Box was the problem and the fullfillment center couldn't get it out. I talked to a very nice lady from amazon and we spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to fix the problem and they shipped it second day air instead of standard. I would highly recommend this item for anyone who needs this type of machine.

My husband has Parkinson’s & was no longer able to lift his leg over or through the stationary bike he’s been using for years. This bike solved the issue & he loves it especially since it’s motorized & works his arms too, his stationary bike did neither. I have it set up in front of a sturdy chair & no longer worry about him possibly falling. This bike is very well made & solid, It is on the high dollar side but much much less expensive than the Theracycle. It came mostly assembled & very easy to add the rest. My only note is sometimes I have to push it in towards his chair as he has days when he just doesn’t have the strength to attempt it. Exercise is so important with neurological conditions & he loves bike cycling while watching TV.

Right size, right speeds, ease of operation. I did find the distance and calorie displays reveresed however.

Delivered on time. Assembly was quite easy and the system works as advertised. I am hopeful this device will provide my wife some mobility she desperately needs, especially since she was recently hospitalized with blood clots that traveled to her lung. She has serious MS mobility issues, but I believe she will be able to use the eTrainer right from her mobility lounge chair. I tried it from there myself and was comfortable with it from a use and safety perspective. She definitely will not be going to break any speed records and I will always be there by her side. HCI was great to work with considering they called me directly to respond to a question. Thanks again HCI.

Gets choppy on setting 5 and up on the legs. Also moves around alot. Not worth what I paid but gets the job done for the most part.

Wonderful product but had to send back because my father ended up in nursing home before I received it. When he got out it was no longer available so I had to get one elsewhere but it is amazing product.

Using with my husband who had a stroke. Disappointed that it doesn’t have a resistance setting. This is great for auto peddling but would like ability to set resistance.
