4 Hawaiian Ginger Plant Root Red Blue White Yellow D3

Ok well I did think through previous purchases that these were the edible types of ginger because there is a blue ginger that you can purchase that is edible. I guess these are for ornamental purposes only. So what I can tell you from the previous purchase from a different place and here is this....They can be persnickety to grow.lol Well the Blue one was easier to come up than the red one on a previous purchase. So lets talk about what you actually get here..I received them with a green leafy stem on all but 1. The white one didn't have a green stem but it did have the little bump on the root that indicates it was trying to grow the green leafy stem. Now on the RED one there were 2 roots in there was that by accident or design? Each of the RED roots had one green leafy stem on them...love that green growing. The WHITE one did not have the leafy stem. The BLUE one had a great little leafy stem and the YELLOW one also had the green leafy stem. They come in little clear plastic bags with a perfect label attached and they each have that they are HAWAIIAN certified and pest free. They were packed in good moist plant packing fibers...Love that also. So all in all they came in a nice package and looking very very healthy!!!

Unsuccessful purchase for me ... they arrived on time, well packaged but one was slightly soggy and rotten ... I cut off the rotted part and planted as directed. Two have sprouted and are about one and half inches high - bright green but certainly not growing at any kind of pace ... the other two have not broken ground at all ... all directions have been followed and therefore, I am very disappointed with the results.

for 50.00 i thought i would get some large starts, but all i got was a two inch start i do not even know if they are going to grow. just a little disappoint and undwelm for what i hat to pay.

I bought these as a gift and didn't expect much. We bought some while we were in Hawaii and my boyfriend couldn't keep them alive. He wanted more so I bought him these and was expecting them to do the same thing. But two are alive and still alive and growing. It's been slow, but they're growing. The other two never sprouted, they just died. *Note that if you live in a dry area these need a lot of humidity to grow.

Came four days ahead of expected date! Was worried they’d be moldy when came in but they packed them great separately then wrapped in a paper and wrapped again in bubble wrap! Very please as it was 98 degrees in Florida! Felt each rhizome very firm! Smaller than expected but I know gingers in summer grow fast with heat and part sun morning then shade rest of day! But remember everyone let them cool off in house ac for couple hours then plant then in a garden soil mixed with coco coir to hold moisture for roots and keep in shade for 2 weeks! The rhizomes were small, res awapuhi rhizome was black. One other was turning black. I have purchased from this company, same items, twice before, and they looked the same, and never grew, I thought it was time of year of planting. I have a green thumb, I have had no other issues with starts from Hawai'i from other companies, but this company. Only the kahili, yellow ginger, sprouted after 2 months, better than the last set I bought from them in October, that even done indoors, still never sprout. I have tried reaching out to the company before, no answer. I should of known better, but keep trying to give my Aloha to local company. Dis company junk, ya. 'Ina loa, pilaf. Because it's been more than 30 days no returns or nothing. Uses to be good company, don't know what happened.

I am very pleased with this purchase! I love gingers and have been collecting a few this year and this is a great “starter pack” for anyone wanting to get into growing gingers from rhizomes.All four of my rhizomes sprouted pretty quickly and now I have 4 awesome plants that I eventually would like to put in my ginger garden.As for ordering from this company, I highly recommend. I never leave reviews but I felt compelled to write one because I had such a great experience with their handling of a situation.Unfortunately I had an issue with the dichorisandra rhizome not being a dichorisandra thyrsiflora. I’m still trying to identify exactly what plant it is but it looks similar to another species of dichorisandra. I contacted the seller about this issue and they got back to me immediately and sent me a new rhizome that is the correct species. I’m super stoked to get it and just the effort on their part to help me out was just a really great experience.

I have not planted my Gingers, but all four have shoots. Some more than 2 shoots. They come with good directions on how to plant and care for them. I am delighted with my order and encourage you to order from this vendor. The gingers are packed in their own bags and are well protected by bubble wrap too.
