Tangy
A bit more spice than I'm used to but still edible. They make a nice snack or added to salads.

Authentic
My Japanese husband is very picky and I do mean picky about his Japanese food and this one got two thumbs up. There are two kinds of pickled radish. One is yellow and can be a bit sweet, a no no in our house. Sometimes they also add fish flakes which changes the taste a lot. This is pickled in fermented rice bran. Other vegetable can also be pickled with the bran. This radish is pickled a long time so it is called "furusuke." Here endeth the first lesson.

Not thrilled w/ response
Sadly, I didn't dare to open this b/c the color went from lite brown to a rusty brown & that's w/out even opening it. Contacted the seller who advised me to write the maker. I just wanted to know if the color was supposed to do that. I am kinda disappointed that they did not research that for me, since I would purchase again if I could trust them...

Not much flavor
I had never tried pickled Daikon Radish before and needed some for a recipe. So not sure if this is how they are supposed to taste, but I did not like them. Not much flavor for a pickle at all.

A tough vegetable
I've had these radishes before. The one I just received was just difficult to cut with a sharp knife. After cutting into bite sized pieces they were a bit too crunchy. Difficult to enjoy when yiu have to chew them for a long time.I agree with other reviewers. A touch too much salt.I'll pass on another purchase from Eden.

Great that it is all natural, but the taste is missing something.
I decided to get this as I discovered that the bright yellow pickled daikon I have always loved in Japanese cuisine is sold here with tons of horrible artificial stuff (MSG, HFCS etc) and I couldn't find any natural products other than Eden's. Unfortunately the taste is very different. It lacks the unmistakable taste that the yellow pickled daikon has. It isn't very "tangy" and lacks that sweetness and that "radishy" taste! hard to describe. But it's natural, so I am going to force myself to grow to like this new unfamiliar taste! Oh and it is fairly small, if you put the two piece end to end you would get the equivalent of half the length of a whole picked daikon or thereabouts.

Not exactly what I was expecting
I didn’t like the texture of the radish. It was a bit soft and didn’t have the crunch I’m use to in this type of radish.
