Q: How fresh is this coffee?

This coffee is fabulous...just received two large vacuum packed decaf Dallmayr coffees and the end date on side of package is 1-20-19. We have been drinking Dallmayr for about three years and haven't had a bad cup yet. Since this is vacuum packed it will stay fresh for a long time. When I open it I only open the top about two inches and after pouring out enough for your pot, tamp the package on counter and then wind the top down to whatever is left in package and secure with a rubber band....stays fresh that way. I just keep it next to coffee pot. All packages have a sell by date.

Q: Does the green stripe on the packaging mean decaf?

No . . . Actually, the Green stripe is Dallmayr Classic, a bit more bold than the others. The decaf coffees will be labeled: Entcoffeiniert.

Q: Why is Classic more expensive than Prodomo?

I buy this coffee for a buddy in New Hampshire. I don't know. She loves it.
