The Norton Anthology of English Literature

Pretty good
The book has some writing and post-it notes inside, but I don't mind that as a college student. Given the price, this was a very good find. The pages are completely intact, and nothing is compromised. Overall, I would recommend this product and the seller.

This book came to me almost brand new and on time. For a used book it was great. And the price even better.

Be warned when buying "new"
I ordered these "new" but there is most definitely writing on some of the stories and chapters, as though a student had used the anthology before I received it. Not the end of the world, as every note was written in pencil and able to be erased. In fact, I notice on some pages it looked as though someone had gone through the anthology and erased other notes and comments but missed some that I later discovered. And continue to discover. Just know that "new" isn't actually new.

Arrived Fast and Nice
It arrived fast and just in time for my class. Intact and nice though the lines are sort of pressed close together, since it's a large anthology. Overall, it's a book worth keeping!

Expensive but great condition!
Wasn't too keen on spending so much for a book but considering the content and how badly I need it for my major, it was worth it! Received in great condition !

These anthologies are mediocre at best
This is the 3rd Norton Anthology I've had to read for English Lit classes. With the first two (Am. Lit read in a previous semester), I read each preface carefully (sometimes several times) in order to understand the context of the stories to follow. If I had difficulty, I just chalked it up to my own understanding. Now, on my third book, I realize the writing is the issue. The prefaces are essential to providing context, yet often parts do not make sense until you've read the story. It would be better if Norton just gave a few lines of essential notes to preface, and then after the story included the remaining information. As it is I now google for context, read the story, and come back and skim the preface for anything important.

Book of Information
A thorough book for those studying American literature and for readers that just want to know more information.
