Works perfectly if you follow package directions! Pricey but worth it!
I LOVE THESE! I was hesitant to buy after seeing mixed reviews but I am SO GLAD I DID. Aside from the extra steps in preparation (which aren't that big of a pain), I can barely tell the difference from regular angel hair pasta. Yes they smell weird when you open the package, so what? You get to have noodles! As long as you rinse them out well, boil them for 2 minutes and then fry them in a pan for a couple minutes they do not have any weird taste to them! So far I've made shrimp alfredo and vegetable lo mein. Going to try homemade ramen tomorrow! A little pricey but definitely curbs the carb cravings!

Great concept... poor flavor, texture, etc.
I bought this when I saw them on Good Morning America, thinking they would be a great sub. for pasta. They are low calorie, low carb and looked as if they would be at least ok to try. I was WRONG! When I got these I was excited to try them, but when I opened the first bag, I got the fishy smell others have described, so I rinsed them until it was gone. I then, blanced them in boiling water (as directions stated) and when I took them out they were congelled together in knots. Well I thought I would still give them a try, hey how bad could they be? I put pasta sauce on them, and onto my plate (still excited to try!)... but when I put them in my mouth.... it reminded me of a frozen pasta (like a Healthy Choice) but much worse! I threw the whole plate of food away and the other bags of the so-called "Pasta"!I would all in all not recommend these! Save your money, and just limit yourself on the real thing, trust me it's worth it!

Nobody reads 3-star reviews, but I'll try to be helpful anyway.
When the five packs arrived they were much smaller than I expected, so I made one large spaghetti casserole with meatballs. Like others mentioned it had a fishy smell at first, but after cooking it there was no trace of the smell. The casserole was pretty good, although the texture was somewhat chewier than you would expect from normal spaghetti, and you could tell you weren't eating the usual processed carbohydrates. Given the high price for a small amount of noodles I don't see this as a viable diet alternative -- I would have to spend way too much to replace my normal noodle intake. Fine then, I'll eat less and exercise more.A note about making a large casserole - YOU CAN NOT FREEZE THESE NOODLES! I froze the leftovers, and when I thawed some out a couple of weeks later the noodles had turned into a desiccated rat's nest. It was like eating a knotted ball of butcher's twine. Blech.

Great for what it is!!
This isn't "real" pasta. Don't expect it to be!!! You won't fool your family!! And, yes, they smell fishy when opened.Remember no calories, no carbs.....I rinsed for several minutes (longer than instructions say) and the smell fades out. I did have to wash my hands a couple of times (I have a very acute sense of smell).Package says to then blanch one minute. I put then into my saute pan with a little water and cooked the water off, added a little more water and cooked it off, etc. I have added different spice combos and I've been very happy with the results.I am on the HCG diet which is very restrictive. These are allowed. This will be a great alternative to pasta in the future as well.

Added this to our culinary arsenal
My spouse and I were expecting something like a dried noodle that would need to be boiled to absorb water, but these things come already hydrated, soaking in a bag of fluid. This seems inefficient in terms of transporting the product, and I wonder if it is necessary to pack this way, but that isn't really what this review should be about. We used these noodles with stir-fried veggies (onions, red peppers, mushrooms, and green beans) and a thai-style peanut sauce. We went with this sauce because other reviewers suggested the product seemed a little fishy, and thai cuising makes use of fish sauce, so it felt like it could be complementary. It was excellent.Do not expect the noodles to be a pasta, despite their appearance. They have a different consistency. Someone else suggested chewy like squid tentacles and that doesn't seem too far from the mark. We also were reminded of the consistency of spaghetti squash, if you are familiar with that plant. As for flavor, there isn't much, though maybe there is something subtly fishy (or was that the power of suggestion?). In addition to adding texture, its functions in your meal revlove around its ability to act as vehicle which other flavors (sauces) can cling.Nutritionally, it contributes soluble fiber and little else, as far as I can tell. We are calorie concious in our meal prep and decided that there is a place for this product in our cooking arsenal. Its value may be more enhanced for you if you restrict gluten in-take. Even if we were not calorie concious, we appreciate the unique texture the product has, as eating is a multi-sensory experience. Vive la difference.

Worth it!
These were really a great find. I've been eating low carb for 3 months now and was missing having a noodle dish. These are kind of off putting when you first open them because of the fishy smell, but i soaked them in cold water for a few minutes then boiled them for about 2 mins as the package says, dried them off and added to a stir fry of meat and veggies. It reminded me exactly of Ramen noodles!! My husband loved them, which is saying a lot because he is picky when it comes to 'replacements' for his normal comfort foods. I did not find them rubbery at all...maybe its how i prepared them? I will be ordering these again.
