Great tool
Great little tool, unfortunately it didn't work fornwhat I needed it for but it has nothing to do with thw tool. I did try it on metal to metal and it worked just fine. Thia was my first time soldering anything lol i did two random cables with flux and it worked well. Unfortunately the actual items i wanted to weld has paint coating so as being my first time wasn't sure if it would work and it didn't lol also i keep seeing reviews that the solder lead gets jammed and that did happen to me as well but eventually figured out the trick to never have that issue again when pulling the trigger. So when you turn of the solder gun after using it the very first time and let it cool down the lead will get stuck to the end of the tube where it's coming out from. If you oull the trigger even after turning back on it will still be stuck and all you will do is jam the lead. To prevent this after every use and the solder gun cools down pull the lead with the pliers they provided and unstuck it. You'll see that you'll never have jamming issues after that. Also with the pliers I clean the soilder pin every time so it wont corrode and what not.

Pretty good
I bought this soldering iron gun kit for some DIY electronics projects, and it's been fantastic. The kit comes with everything you need to get started. The iron heats up quickly and maintains a consistent temperature, making soldering easy and efficient. You do need to be careful when you slide the wire in, keep the compartment window open so you can see where it is going.

THIS PRODUCT IS MORE A SOLDERING IRON THAN A SOLDERING GUN!
I used it a few times for soldering some wires. The reason for my heading is that it stays on once it is plugged in and the switch on top is flipped on; the trigger is ONLY for feeding solder and has no control over the iron's heat. By contrast, a true soldering gun's trigger actually turns on the heat when it is squeezed. As a totally-blind electronics hobbyist, I prefer a soldering gun because I can position it at my desired point while it is cold, and it heats very quickly. This product takes longer to heat and stays hot until it is switched off or unplugged, which is expected behavior for a soldering iron. The instructions are correct in that it takes a bit of practice to feed the proper amount of solder with the trigger. A disadvantage for a blind person using this product is that he cannot feel the solder moving as he would do if feeding it with his other hand as in traditional setups (yes, some of us blind folk actually do soldering; and some are comfortable working with a hot soldering iron).I believe the product is quite worthwhile for working in small places, and it definitely offers a nice convenience with its one-hand operation; but if I had been labeling it, I would have called it a soldering iron with solder trigger feed rather than the confusing label of soldering iron gun kit. I say that because it fits more into the group of soldering irons than soldering guns. All that being said, I recommend this product for its convenience and design for working in small places; though I am not a fan of lead-free solder because it is more difficult to use than is the common "60/40" combination of lead and tin products generally used in electronic work. One could, of course, use the 60/40 solder if it is of the 1mm diameter, which is the diameter of the solder supplied with the kit. I chose four stars mainly because of what I believe to be a confusing label rather than any deficiency in the product; I also believe that with practice, a blind hobbyist could learn how much to squeeze the trigger for feeding the solder, and its one-handed operation would be nice for anyone having limited use of one hand. The kit includes a desoldering pump, a pair of tweezers, a small screwdriver, and the lead-free solder. Altogether, I believe it is worth the money as another tool for electronics hobbyists and others who do small soldering tasks.

Finally I Can Solder
Well, finally I can solder. This product eliminates needing three hands to be able to solder.I know this works because I tried the same task prior and could not quite do it. With this item, I was able to complete the task.It certainly gets hot enough. The accessories that came with it will also be helpful in the future. This really works well for the smaller items and smaller drops of solder.

It's OK
It's a little finicky and it came with some crappy lead-free solder, so I had to get solder for it, but it works.

Works for light duty soldering
Solder is very thin but is easy to use, like having an extra hand and you don't burn your fingers. Take the time to properly adjust the solder feed angle to suit your needs. The small size of the solder means you will have to pull the trigger feed continuously as you solder but there is plenty of heat and it does not over hear the wire quickly, allowing you time to get enough solder on it. The normal precautions and amount of room for soldering is needed.

This is a great soldering gun.
This is a great soldering gun. I purchased it to try and solder my BBQ aluminum handle that broke off and it did not work. I managed to use about eight inches of the soldering wire without any luck.BEWARE, when you first plug it on. Please make sure that the soldering gun is set to (I) My was set to O. By mistake I did not notice this and when I was trying to align the device to heat up the wire. I got a third-degree burn. Please be careful.I returned the device as this did not work for what I needed it for.
