Great Strainer to be Used Inside My Instant Pot or For Smaller Households
I bought this to use inside of my 7 qt Instant Pot, and it works great! Just the perfect size to fit inside of it. I did have to snap off handles to make it work in my Instant Pot, but I was expecting to do that. They were a little hard to get to come off so I do believe they will stay on well if you were not planning on removing them. The fine mesh keeps veggies from falling through and makes it more like a steamer. This strainer is easy to lift out of the pressure cooker.I would find it a little small if I was using it for a typical strainer because we have a large family of five people. If it were just you or maybe two people it would be okay to use. So it would be a great wedding gift or house warming present.I do like that it is stainless steel that just makes me feel better about using it. So many things are plastic or have some weird coating on them, and you do not know what you are using and if it has any side effects to using them.Pros:Low PriceFits in 7 qt Instant Pot with handles removedStainless SteelSuitable for Couples or IndividualsFine mesh, but not to fineCons:Would be small for large familiesWould I Purchase Them Again: YESDid You Find My Review Helpful? Works great for pressure cooker, once you change the handle
I have a 6qt and 8 qt Instant Pot and was looking for a strainer to cook small grains like quinoa and rice, something that could steam my veggies, and something to keep some meats out of the liquid while it's cooking. This seemed like the perfect solution. I read the reviews, pros and cons, and knew I would need to alter the handles to fit into the pot. I'm not sure why some people were upset by this, it's much cheaper than other options and only took a little tweaking. My husband the rim of the basket into a vice grip and then used a pair of pliers to simply bend the handle inward. I didn't want the handle removed all together since this seemed like it would be hard to get the basket out without handles. I figured if I didn't like the alterations, I could always remove them later.Well, it's been almost a year now and I love it! It's used almost daily and I havent had any issues with the original soldering of the handles coming off, or any part of the basket weave breaking due to constant high pressure. It's easy to throw in the dishwasher and doesn't keep any odors locked in. I keep it stored right inside my pot since it's used so frequently.I haven't needed to remove the handles, but it is a very tight squeeze in my 6 qt. I really make sure the lid is secure and firmly attached before I start cooking in it because I don't want any issues. It fits much better in the 8qt. I don't have the 7 qt (yet) but would imagine it would fit fine once you alter the handles. I submitted 2 pictures inside the pot. The smaller one is the 6 quart, the roomier pot is the 8.I would only recommend buying this for an Instant Pot / electric pressure cooker if you understand it will have to be modified before it will fit. It's really easy, and well worth the cost savings!

Worked well for awhile
I purchased this to replace my filter basket for my pop-ups in my pool. It was a better value than the plastic ones I had been buying for nearly twice cost. However, I had to replace them often because they split. This was suggested by another Amazon customer in his review. It was initially very sturdy and did a fantastic job but the ring that serves as a footing as a strainer came off. It appears the ring was spot welded to the basket's wire weave. This fit my 8-1/4 in diameter rim perfectly. It's all stainless steel and even has two flip up/down handles to retrieve it. It appears the welds may not have been compatible for stainless, much more aggressive environment, and there appeared to be rust. If I still had to buy 2 of these a year I'd be way ahead. I do have to empty it more because it collects everything. This is the cleanest my pool has looked in 3 summers.

Love this strainer!
I don’t write reviews very often, I will admit I am quite a difficult customer to please. This strainer is awesome! The mesh is very sturdy and the handles too. The size is also just right, not too small where things are overflowing but doesn’t take up a lot of shelf space either. I boiled an entire packet of capellini and it was just big enough, yay!!! Excited to wash rice in it next, the mesh has tight sturdy holes, I’m confident there won’t be a grain of rice lost. And the cherry on top….good price!

Good replacement for Hayward Pool Skimmer Basket
Saw on another review to use this as a replacement for the plastic Hayward Pool Skimmer Basket--is a perfect drop-in replacement and fits nicely in the skimmer inlet.I found this basket to provide better small debris filtration in addition to it's obvious additional strength of construction since it is metal.I have a salt-water pool and have had this basket fully submerged for 4.5mos and have only seen the light rust staining you see in the images. This basket is definitely some sort of stainless steel though since it is starting to show slight rust staining, it's likely a lower quality variety. Again, this is just staining, no evidence of actual metal decay.I waited these 4.5mos before reviewing because I wanted to see how well it held up being fully submerged for a while, I don't see any long-term issues so plan to purchase another one to replace my other plastic skimmer basket.I included an image of the default Hayward basket that I replaced as a visual reference for comparison.Note: this item has a dual-pivoting handle such that both handles pivot on the centerline and fold down to lay flat around the rim, I just leave mine hinged upright for easy grabbing to remove but they do seem to present a larger restriction when trying to empty the basket when full of leaves as compared to the standard Hayward single handle style--no real issue, it's just the only slight negative I've found as compared to the default basket.
