Review of both Mora floating knives
Review of both Mora cork handled floating knives: orange sheath serated safety tip and green sheath fine edge clip point. When comparing the two knives they have identical sheaths, handles, weight, length, steel type and stock thickness. Color and blade grind are your main differences.I bought the serated safety tip knife with orange sheath for use in my canoe. More recently in 2020 I bought the clip point green sheath as a ultralight hiking knife. These knives float well and are very light at 3.07 OZ making them great to carry as a ultralight backpacking knife. The cork handle is incredibly comfortable and grippy especially when wet. My magnet shows the tang continues to the end of the handle, and the cork is more dense than a fly-rod cork handle but the handle has more flex than any other knife I have used. The handle flexes but is tough enough for all normal knife tasks IMHO it won't break. The Tang is encased in plastic and the cork is bonded to the plastic I don't think the cork would rip off the Tang as other reviewers have predicted. The cork handle has a great feel in hand and reminds me of a fly-rod, very comfortable and more durable than you might think. The sheath is hi-vis orange or green with drainhole, exactly similar to all Mora plastic sheaths. I see another reviewer said the sheath was flimsy but it is a standard Mora sheath quite robust. Both knives came razor sharp and the scandy grinds were perfect. I modified the orange sheath serated to a sheeps foot design(see photos) to increase it's usefulness as safety is my 3rd priority. I also sharpened the spine of the blade. I would recommend these knives to anyone looking for a boat/safety knife or a ultralight backpacking knife on a budget.I have had the orange model for two boat seasons and under moderate use the handle shows no wear to the cork but does pick up some dirt from your hands. Have been using the orange serated edge for two boating seasons and it has kept an edge and have been perfect for cutting rope, fish and wood.I would mention that the sheath retention is achieved through two divots on either side of the cork handle and two matching nubs on the sheath. This has not worn at all on me yet and my personal experience with cork is that it is much more durable than you might think. I would say it should last 20 years or more with my use and at this price point most mora knives are purpose built and intended to be worked hard and replaced when worn.

It’s a Morakniv! Finally a blunt tip, Knife for a sailors and fisherman. Way to go Morakniv!!!!💞💞
This is a fabulous knife for a fabulous price with a blunt tip. That’s so much safer than caring a sharp point for every day sailing and fishing tasks. And it floats it’s now replaced my other Sailing sheath knife, which was also a Morakniv!

An excellent knife - and it floats!
Being a Morakniv it is superb quality. Bought this for kayaking for its visibility and it because it floats. I'm not usually a fan of plastic sheaths, but Morakniv sheaths hold their knives securely yet are easy to snap in and out.

Seems to be good quality. Anybody need a dog?
I bought this knife on accident in my pocket and tried to return it. But my amazing, very smart, absolutely not a huge pain in my ass dog ate the handle before I could print the return label, so now I own a slightly "modified" version. The handle, aside from the large dog-tooth-sized chunks missing, is nice dense cork and looks great. It fits in my hand really well, not as well as it fit in the jowls of an 80lb mutt with oral fixation, but pretty well. The cut off tip is a little strange, I guess it's for safety or maybe some other function? The bright orange color will make sure you never lose it in a pond, river, ocean, or pool of staffordshire terrier dog slobber.

Perfect for modest needs...
This is my emergency knife for kayaking. It clips to my PFD just fine albeit loosely. I've rigged a simple lanyard to the sheath to ensure it doesn't come off should I capsized. My kayaking includes fresh flat water, and salt water excursions in bays and sloughs in the NorCal region. After several trips in salt water, no rust or spotting of any kind. I rinse with fresh water and dry after every trip.Sharp enough to cut any of my rigging AND my 7mm tow rope, no problem. Not the smallest and certainly not the prettiest, but for peace of mind it's fantastic. And...IT FLOATS!

Excellent Piece of Kit
We are doing a project that requires a lot of work on the water. We provide the team with a knife to cut away tangled lines, trim gear, etc. We got tired of losing dropped equipment, so got these floating knives. With these, we at least have a chance to recover them if dropped. Nice knife for our purposes. Definitely recommend.

LOVE IT!
I can't beleive Mora made a boat knife! Just in time for me too! I was just about to buy a mora companion in stainless steel and then grind the tip down and add a bigger drain hole to make it more of a boat knife. But Mora made an official boat knife and it's even better than what I would have made!I love the serrations. Perfect for cutting rope. I would not use this for camping though. It feels tough for how light it is. Other reviews said it felt flimsy. I guess it's not as solid as a Mora companion, but it still feels nice and strong for how light it is.The blunt tip is also awesome! You can poke your hand with it and it will not cut your hand. So perfect for boat safety.I got two. The price is so great! One to put in the glovebox of the boat to use as a rescue knife and one in my fishing bag for when I'm fishing on the canoe. I was already using a mora companion as my fishing knife, so this is a really cool upgrade to that!If you go boating, canoeing, or kayaking, you should get one of these knives! Seriously, you should at least have some kind of knife for safety. Sometimes there is just no time to untie a knot or tangle and you just need to cut the rope. Sometimes people get tangled up in ropes/lines and they drown. A good knife can save your life or the life of someone going out on the boat with you.

Floats. Sharp. Nice.
The molded sheath would be better if it was molle- compatible.
