the coverings of the clips were sticky due to contact with thermocoal packing.

DO NOT BUY - 2 burnt out thin wires with banana clip and alligator clips at the ends
Got 2 pieces of thin burnt out wires which had alligator clips at the end. Had to replace the entire wire myself to get it to work. The banana clips were not even fitted on correctly and it was not conducting.
