Metal Round Hanging Candle Lantern with Curved Glass Insert, Nautical Coastal Style

Very nice lantern. One glass panel was broken on arrival, but the seller sent a replacement right away. Casts a lovely glow at night.

I bought this as a replacement for one I used as a halloween prop. That old one had a craftsman mission style and was much lighter, flimsier, and slightly smaller. I wanted to get one like that one, but then saw this one and needed to own it. This one is much more expensive than what I would have expected to pay for one like the old one. This Lantern looks much cooler for Halloween. Looks much nicer for any other use as well. Love the round glass. Somehow this looks more arcane and interesting.I had to repair the old lantern numerous times with epoxy at the connector. I will not have to do such things with this one. The gauge of metal is thicker by far. The lantern is far heavier.I am overjoyed that the top swings up to allow easy access to the inner compartment. It makes it easy to put in LED candles or even regular candles. I also like that there is not a ring inside for setting tea lights or other short candles. It makes putting other sizes of candles simpler.This lantern looks great!. Looks interesting. I finally bought this and it's as beautiful as it is in the picture and more! I feel this was sturdy with the exception of the tabs to be bent to hold the glass in. Be very careful I don't think they will survive being bent the first time. If you move pack it both inside and outside. I'm so happy I bought it

The lantern looks fantastic. I love the antique look, and when a candle is put in the glass makes a really lovely soft glow. When it arrived, neither of the glass pieces was in place, and I had to fix it. Even after fixing it, it doesn't quite feel in place, so I worry about moving it. I'm sure with glue I could fix it, but shouldn't have to. Overall though if you'll be using in in one place and not moving it, it would be fine.

I never remember to check those dimensions, and envisioned this to be much smaller than it is. The measurements above don't quite match those I just took. From the top of the finial to the base is just over 13". With the hangar on top completely upright, the whole thing is over 15". It's substantial and looks impressive. It's also unique and eye-catching. Yes, the metal is thinner than you might expect, the latch is fidgety and the door doesn't form a tight seal, but it's a rustic lantern and those things, for me, just add to the aesthetic. I don't love that there is a votive-size holder inside, but this lantern with a lit candle inside casts a beautiful light through the textured glass in a way few lanterns actually do, and that's caused me to love this lantern more than I'd hoped to.

Looks just like the photo! Fits exactly what I've wanted for a very long time--can hand carry without the candle blowing out; antique look; stands firmly on table, too. My small tea-sized votive works well, giving just enough light; it did generate heat (it's fire!), but the sides and handle of the lantern didn't overheat; I'll be cautious with larger candles; the handle can be tipped to one side so it's not directly over vents. No problem with crookedness; only noticeable if you inspect up close; rustic beauty. Yes, the latch is small and COULD break, as well as the door hinge; you could disfigure the whole lantern if you manhandle. My door stays "closed" when not latched--doesn't swing open. Note: The package arrived with glass panes loose and rattling inside (they have to be installed); good thing they were perfect even without padding. I'm buying one as a gift; will inspect and pad glass to ship out of state, taking no chances.

Eesh, this thing is quite expensive for what it is.So, I should have read the product description better because it was much bigger than I expected. This isn't a big deal though.When I pulled it from the box I could see that it was indeed much more green than in the picture, as other reviewers have said. Also, not a big deal. But as soon as soon as I removed the bubblewrap, one of the glass pieces slid out of the lantern and almost fell on the floor. It wasn't secured into place at all. I continued unwrapping and the other piece of glass tried to fall out as well. It also had not been secured into place!!! They were easy enough to put in and fold the little metal hands down but those were soooo flimsy I was worried they'd snap right off. I tried to latch the door closed but it's off by a fraction of an inch so I have to kind of lift the door up, close it, and then latch it. The metal feels like a really lightweight tin or something. NOT the quality I expected at all for $45. I got better quality lanterns from Ikea for a fraction of the price but this one looks so much cooler so I went with it. If I saw this in the store, though, I'd definitely pass.
