Prefix Plus-T -- Great replacement for old Prefix preamp
I have a Gibson EC-30 that had a factory installed Prefix Plus onboard preamp. I bought the guitar new around 2000. The preamp started making intermittant rumbling noises (unfortunately, this happened during a gig....bummer). I tried various things to determine what was causing the rumbling sounds, but could not find the cause. So, since I could not trust the guitar for future gigging, I decided to replace the original onboard Prefix Plus with a new Prefix Plus-T. The Prefix Plus-T was almost a drop-in replacement. I mention "almost", because I had to Dremmel some of the wood in the "drop-in hole" to accommodate a slightly larger preamp casing. But it was a simple operation. The new Prefix Plus-T preamp is great! good acoustic clarity...and I really appreciate the onboard tuner. ....and...no mre rumbling sounds!

Happy with this!
Seems to be working well. The only drawback is that I replaced a LR Baggs Stage Pro. The hole is on the upper bout and the curve of the guitar is a little more than this Fishman is designed for. To change the battery I have to listen the screws at the top to get the compartment to open. But it sounds great, easy to figure out, and I love the onboard tuner!

Great tone and easy install.
I was a replacement for one that was over 20 years old. Installation was easy since everything was already done. I have a jumbo body guitar, easiest way to install the jack is to put a guitar cord in to the guitar, connect it to the jack and pull it through the hole. Remove the cord while holding on the the jack and screw the nut on. Make sure there is some type of reinforcement where the jack is connected to the guitar. That way the guitar doesn't get damaged with cord being pluged and unpluged. The great Fishman tone you expect from this unit.

Replaced A Fishman Prefix Blender
I replaced a Fishman Prefix Blender on my Taylor 855CE. It fit perfectly but I had to mod the frame for the unit so it would mold to the body better. I used strips of foam or velcro (without using the sticky side). The reason I did that, if the 4 screws are tighten all the way then the door doesn't open at all for access to the battery. What I like about the Plus T is the built in tuner. It is very pricey and I think the frame should be more flexible so it can mold to the curve of the body of the guitar. That's the reason for 4 stars.

Fishman Pre-amp
I had this pre-amp installed into a Tacoma Thunderchief acoustic electric bass. It sounds awesome and works great. My only complaint is that the sound is a little weak on my G and D strings up high on the neck. But I'm a bass player and I don't spend very much time up there. I give this pre-amp an A. Very Happy Fishman Prefix Plus-T Preamp - wide format

"Shield" wire is the uninsulated one.
I love this pre-amp. It makes my Taylor 310ce sound like a Taylor 310ce.I installed it myself because the hole in my guitar is for the exact same size Fishman preamp that came stock on the guitar. The ONLY MINOR issue I had was when connecting the pickup to the unit it wasn't clear (at least to me it wasn't) which wire was the "shield" wire. It turns out that the "shield" wire is the UNinsulated one.
