Easy to sew, using overlocker and normal stitch, value at 2.99 a metre and just the job!
I wanted to make black out blinds for my East facing windows, but did not want to combine them with my existing lined curtains. So, I made separate blinds. I made up the material with a channel for a net curtain rod, and hemmed it. This slotted nicely over the top of the existing curtain rail, as our windows are not high. Very easy to sew, given that the material is rather slippery. Nice weight though and drapes well. Manageable by holding it taut behind and in front of the needle, as I stitched. Very pleased with the end result and have made 10 metres worth, as I decided to add black out to my vertical blinds on the West, by using half a peg to slip in a wedge at the top above the blinds' rail. All of my new black out blinds can be removed easily and when folded, they spring back to normal without creases. Overall, an amazing answer to being woken up at 4.15am by the light and finding it hard to get to sleep, when tired from the early mornings and going to bed in the light. This material has a very slight nay blue tinge to the black appearance which is actually pleasant and they do the job!Having endured relentless hot nights and strong sun almost without break since buying this black out material, I can safely say that these have saved my life (because of my heart condition!). The blinds are over my front door top, (two narrow panes that let in the hot evening sun, over a small stairs window, and all four upstairs room, plus an extra one in the main bedroom. Constantly putting up and folding yet they look crisp and new and have allow me to sleep in till 6.00am, as I wake with a single chink of light! Excellent and amazing value. A godsend for me. Excellent!

Great material
Used for campervan blinds, easy to cut and feels very premium. Blocks out most of the light.

Value for money, good for night shifts
As I work night shifts I needed a way to block the sunlight out of my bedroom. I was originally looking into buying a full blackout blind, but they are usually £15 - £30 dependant on quality. So I found this budget option. I simply tuck it over my already closed blind, and with a bit of tweaking, it blocks out all the sunlight. I've noticed that my room stays warmer for longer too, which I'm assuming is because of the materials thermal quality's. I've bought another one for my other window.Only thing to note is that the edges are frayed slightly, so if you care about looks you would likely have to cut off the frayed bits. But for the purpose of blocking sunlight and keeping heat in, they work like a charm. Would buy again.

Black out cloth
Really good quality for the price really keeps day light out also keeps the heat in so the the heat doesn’t escape through the windows.

Not good for photographic or stage/cinematographic uses
I bought this as I need a non-absorbant or at least non-reflective black cloth to take pictures of model starships on. This looked like a good buy for experimentation from other brands, given the price and other reviews. Disappointly, however, it simply doesn't work in that capacity. The attached photos show the results without and with flash. It is little, if any, better than the existent cloth I had. When I laid on the table, it was very grey. It was also not hugely convincing when I held it up to the inside lights and I could see specks of light shining through, so I'm not convinced that it would work as a 100% black-out material even if used for that, maybe only 80-90%. The best thing I can say for it is that it does at least lie very flat. It appears sufficient for people using it to black-out windows from the reviews, but I would recommend that anyone looking for photographic or stage/cinematographic uses might be better served by something else.

OK but not 100% blackout
It works OK in blocking out an annoying street light but isn't a 100% blackout. Once the dawn comes it lets in some light, which is OK in the winter when it doesn't get light so early but might be a problem in the summer.
