Replacement for my old EZ set of 12 years
These are my favorite for my McCallums. They need to be broken in and adjusted for optimum sound, air consumption and performance. If you don't like them, then u haven't set them up.

Very good
These reads sound great on my set, they are easy to set up and adjust. The only problem is that I personally find them a little "air hungry", but I think that's just a little something I have to deal with.

EZdrone reeds, everyone uses them. Great stable reed you can count on.
What's not to like? I've been using them for 15 years and will do so for another 15 (I hope!)

Good reeds, now I need bigger lungs...and I'm attracting Bean Sidhes
These are good reeds, but you almost have to pop your bag to get them to strike-in well. As in my chanter reed picks up at the same time as these things start producing the right tone if I just keep inflating. They're not very air efficient either, so you'd better have the lungs of a blue whale to keep them going. For the price, I'd want something easier to work with and to play. The bass reed is awesome in my highland pipes, but the tenors...whew...you start filling the bag, and you can hear air billowing out of the drone. No matter how you adjust them, they hemorrhage air, and then start letting out a god-awful shriek until you strike them in. And like I said, that's not easy. Right now, I'm running the Ezeedrone bass reed and 2 tenors from a different manufacturer. I just don't have the beef to keep air in the bag with the tenors exhaling that badly.Maybe it's just me. I'm not a highland pipe expert, and I usually stick to medieval/Irish war pipes with one bass and one tenor drone. My greatpipes are more of a toy. Still, something about these just seem odd. Perhaps somebody can come on here and tell us how to set them correctly to keep them from losing air so badly and screaming like the Banshee outside my window?Three stars because a cheaper set of tenor reeds work better, but my bass drone sounds like a boss drone now.
