Which way out?
The instructions say one side should be marked "up" or "out" and there is no such marking on the gasket. Thanks for that.

They like to leak even when using special tools to install
Since GM flipped the seal backwards, they have a tendency to leak oil. It is a bad Deal especially with turbo applications. I can’t believe that they don’t have a more effective seal for bigger ring end gap applications. These seals have cost me hundreds of dollars in repair costs.
