Boyfriend Dog Sweater (XXX-Large)

This is beyond adorable. I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this sweater at this price and once it arrived, I couldn't believe it!First of all, this sweater is absolutely gorgeous. The card it comes with says it's made with natural and ethically sourced sheep and alpaca wool and putting my hands on, I believe it.I have never bought any clothing from this company Chilly Dog until now so I can't compare this sweater to any of their other tops however, I have purchased tons of dog sweaters and tops for my little guys throughout the years and this one is by far the most beautiful and well made. I would wear this if I could!You will not find an article of pet clothing such as this one at any of the large chain pet stores, I promise. Maybe if there's a doggie boutique near you, they would possibly have something like this that's hand-made by someone local.I love that it's such a unique piece. I have had so many compliments on it and have been asked a few times if I made it myself and people are shocked when I tell them I found this adorable gem on Amazon.The sweater has some good "heft" to it so it's definitely going to keep your fur babe warm in the winter. I personally wouldn't send my little guy out into the pouring rain with it unless he had his rain coat on over top of it. I'm imagining if the sweater got rained on enough to become "wet" it would take a good amount of time to dry out.Also, if you have a doggo that isn't a real fan of clothing and wants to scratch or tries to paw at its clothes, a knit sweater could be a challenge. It has a very nice tight weave but the fact that it's "knitted" simply means it can and will snag if a doggo decides to put a tooth or toenail into it or rough houses with other dogs while wearing it.The over the head with sleeveless arm cutouts are my favorite style for dog tops. This style works for both long or short legged dogs and helps to keep their legs from backing themselves out of the arm holes so you won't likely find your fur buddy all contorted or hopping around on three legs!The underbelly fit on this sweater is also the perfect length for males and it won't become soiled when they go out for potty breaks. You can see in the picture where Virgil is laying on his back where the sweater stops underneath.The collar can be rolled down a half roll or left up which you can also see both ways in a couple of the pictures where I'm holding the sweater.Overall, I am comfortable to 100% recommend this sweater to others. It's made with the highest of quality along with being unique and adorable. It really should stand the test of time.Currently the overall length is a tad longer than Virgils other tops/sweaters and does land a bit over the base of his tail when he's sitting down. I think this should be fine since he'll grow to be approx 9-10lbs and should still fit into this sweater without needing to size up. However, if for some strange reason he grows out of this one, I'll definitely buy again. Especially at this price..I can't afford NOT too!If you're still on the fence I say just get it. The sellers pictures really don't do it justice. You'll be pleasantly shocked once you're able to see and feel this sweater in person.If you're buying for a small or toy breed, I would definitely choose the size based on the sellers weight recommendation instead of worrying about actual measurements but I did list out Virgils measurements for a reference below.When I originally purchased this sweater, I chose the XS based solely off the sellers recommended size based off his weight. Which, at the time, he was 5lb-6oz and it fit him perfectly fine when it arrived with the only exception of the length. It was hitting his tail just a tiny bit further down then when I took these actual pictures today.In reference to his weight, measurements and sweater fit in the attached pictures:Size XSWeight 6lb-2oz.His back length (base of neck to base of tail) is 10.25".The widest part of his chest (under his armpits up to the base of his neck) is 14.25".His neck circumference (where a loose fitted collar would sit) is 8.75".My only caution when measuring is to keep in mind that this sweater has some stretch in it but not a ton. If you are buying for a breed that has a larger sized head (like a bully, mastiff or french bulldog) you may have issues in getting the sweater on and off comfortably on those with an adorable but "blockier" heads. I'm sure you could wrestle to get it on them but I don't think your doggo would necessarily enjoy it. 😉

I bought this in size Small for my 5lb Maltese, and it’s absolutely perfect! The wool material is high-quality and keeps him so warm and comfortable, especially during chilly days. It fits him perfectly, and he doesn’t mind wearing it at all. The design is lightweight yet cozy, and it’s durable enough for daily use. I’ve tried other products before, but this one stands out for its warmth and style. Highly recommend for small dogs like mine!

It's HARD to find sweaters to fit a 130lb male Doberman! After reading the reviews, I decided to give the XXXL a try (it definitly helped that it was on sale for 50% off). It fit!!!Now, it was snug under the front arms, so I had to do a little adjusting so it was more comfortable for him. I cut 2 little slits in the seams around the openings & gave it a pull. He was much more comfy with looser front leg openings. He's a big boy, so adjustments are a normal thing.It's an adorable sweater. The quality is EXCELLENT! Love the color and stripes!Wash in cold water and dont dry it in the dryer!!!!Hang it to dry overnight! It will shrink based on the material!Highly recommend to all dog parents out there!

I loved this sweater for my dog and the only reason I gave it 4 stars is that the fit was on the large size around the neck and arm holes. Of course in true sweater style it just kept stretching. It is almost impossible to find wool sweaters for dogs. Wool breathes and keeps their temp regulated. These are really nice. I have shaved Old English Sheepdogs and they are short backed, and so the back is a bit long and hangs over their bum since they do not have tails. Quick fix with a hem. I am going to try a smaller size in this style and hope that it fits because I really like this sweater.

I have a Pitbull with no neck (very thick) and short hair. So finding a coat/jacket for the winter that fits over his neck is sometimes challenging. This one fits perfectly in that regard. I would say if anything, it is a little long for my dog, but not too long, so the 5-star rating stands. This isn't a custom order; they have to fit thousands of dogs. I love this; it looks great, and it is made great.

Very easy to put on and remove, craftsmanship is impressive, super fit with a good design

This sweater seemed to have a lot of potential, but was unfortunately a let down in my dog’s case. I bought it for my 60lb dog who fit the description for a size xl, so that’s what I ordered. It came it was very stylish and very warm (++). It even seemed to fit her great. However, after being outside and walking and running around for half a day, the sweater had rubbed her shoulder/arm area on both front limbs raw. It wasnt apparent until later on in the day how it was bothering her until she began walking on three legs to avoid the friction (one side was worse). Upon inspection I realized even though it fit girth/length wise on her, the arm holes and chest area were very tight, despite her having dimensions that fit the product sizing (about the size of the dog in the listing cover photo). While I would imagine a xxl would be too long on her, I’m hoping the seller will see this review and send me a xxl to replace the one I bought, or —preferably— refund me completely since it probably would be too big to jump up a size.

Got this in an XL for my 60lb pit, she's 12 and tends to get cold as she's got extremely short hair.Fit her perfect, easy on and easy off.Well made, and nice color. Warm and with the wool antimicrobial.
