These were advertised as a series of pads with a range of textures, but the package only contained one type. Thus, they were effectively useless to me, as I needed all types.

Non-woven nylon abrasives, otherwise known as "scotch-brite" are excellent for many different applications and have many advantages over other abrasives such as aluminum oxide sandpaper in that they do not "clog" or accumulate material buildup, they're completely non absorbent, and it's incredibly tough being extremely resistant to tearing or fraying. I became acquainted with non-woven nylon abrasive when i was running a stainless steel furniture company and we'd use the hand pads to remove shallow scratches in the steel and recreate the "brushed" look (aka uniform scratch pattern). Non-woven nylon is excellent on metal as it buffs it and actually closes the grain of the metal greatly reducing tarnish build up.

Not a standard pack like I've been use to, I received only 10 pads in a plastic bag. I double check and there is nothing about it in the description.. Take that into consideration.
