Jesus and His Times (Reader's Digest Books)

Published in 1987, any copy of this may suffer from the binding glues losing their grip and groups of pages may be completely loose but please do not let that possibilty stop you from the enjoyment the book offers. Before the internet and electronic readers, books were our eyes to the world of knowledge and Reader's Digest was an excellent publisher. Featuring photos of many artifacts and the region where Jesus spent his life, accompanying maps give the reader and excellent view of the way life was 20 centuries ago. Great artwork done by skilled illustrators add the imagery that the reader can use to place themselves in the actual day to day environment. The editors have done an excellent job to keep the text to the facts without expressing any religious bias. I purchased my copy as in "new condition" which it is but there is a section which has come loose from the spine. An easy fix and certainly well worth the effort. A great start for the beginning Bible student & a beautiful visual treat for the more informed scholar.

I was given this book 35 years ago. I love the photos. I love the ease of understanding these times in our history, so much so that I purchased from Amazon a copy for my Grand children.

One of our family members had this book since it first came out in the late 80s, and she would always go back to it for one thing or another and eventually the binding failed and the book started coming apart. We looked into repairing the binding, but that didn't really seem like a viable option, as none of us have any experience fixing book bindings. On a whim, I searched Amazon and found this NEW, and the price was right so we got it. So glad we didn't have to scour the used book stores all around town and probably end up with a book that would need repair soon.

This is a great resource for researching the times and culture in Judea before and during the life of Jesus. A big hel[ when writing and designing plays and sets for Christmas and Easter

Bought this for my autistic bro's 22nd birthday. His old one got lost in our overseas move. Not sure WHY he likes it so much...but he was really happy when I gave it to him. Now he won't ask me a million times WHERE his book went! :)
