Barlean's Essential Woman Liquid Supplement for Women, Organic Flaxseed, Evening Primrose Oil and Soy Isoflavones, Omega 3 6 9 and GLA, 12 oz

I started taking these capsules several years ago while looking for something to help with night sweats. I believe this Barlean's product really helped with that but, even better, I noticed a distinct improvement in the texture of my hair and skin. I just looked much healthier, in general. A great product!

Be careful if you are trying to conceive with these. I didn't know I wasn't supposed to use these daily. (I'm Steven's wife). If you are using them trying to conceive a baby, use them with caution. I didn't know that it could suppress ovulation if used daily. They are soy isoflavones and should be used like you would use Clomid, on whatever cycle days you take Clomid (they vary based on doctor's advice). Supposedly, many women have become pregnant using this product. I've been using this product for years for many reasons. One of them is it cures my dry eyes! It helps regulate the menstrual cycle. Now that I'm trying to conceive, however, I am not going to take them daily as before. I will only use it at the beginning of my cycle. I also believe this product caused a false positive result on a digital ovulation kit. It happened twice, while my regular strips were negative, and when I tested again later in the day with the digital, it was suddenly negative again. So, I believe this is a powerful product and for that reason, please read up on soy isoflavones and for what you are using them for. I like the fact that these are encapsulated and I don't have to drink down the bottle. I've been using Barlean's products for years. They work!

This product works really well for me and my body's needs; however, there was only one reviewer that mentioned the possibility to cause depression. The reviewer here is TJ dated April 2012. Go take a look at their review. Had I not taken TJ's review into account I would've thought that I was going mad. I haven't seen anyone else mention this fact in all the reviews thus far.The first two days of taking these vitamins I was emotional which usually is not my temperament. It was on the 3rd day that I remembered that I had read TJ's review about how it caused them to be depressed, for I believe 2 weeks then they stopped taking the vitamins and went back to normal. As stated please read TJ's review. As for myself, after the 3rd day of taking the vitamins I was back to normal. I still take these vitamins. As a matter of fact I am in a better mood.This product contains Evening Primrose which is known to help with female hormones and such. Please do your research about Evening Primrose and if you are on any medication I'd recommend that you check with your physician. I am not on any medication but I was sensitive enough to the change when I first started to take these vitamins. I am fortunate enough that this product worked for me but for others it may not.I just want to reiterate that this product is excellent and it worked for my body's needs. I've been taking these for 3 months now so this is my assessment and experience taking them.

I have taken two of these capsules every day for at least 30 years. The quality has been very consistent. I feel like they give me the essential fish oils needed for maintenance for my body. Any new doctor seems to be impressed with the way my nails, hair, and skin look. I keep the bottle in the fridge and have never had a leaky capsule. They smell a little like iron but have no taste . And there is no burpees to remind me all day Great product

I would not necessarily categorize this as “unflavored”. It definitely has a gritty, oily, nutty taste to it. It’s not bad if you take it straight, but you may want to mix it if you cannot tolerate it straight. As for the efficacy, I will have to report back as I’ve only taken it for 3 days so far. It has a very good amount of Omegas in it, so I’m really hoping it helps. :-)I also contacted Barlean’s regarding the “lead” warning sticker attached to the bottle and this was the response I received “Thank you for reaching out regarding your question about the Prop 65 label. We must have the prop 65 warning per California’s guidelines of products and to be sold in California’s area.. We follow the guidelines of the FDA for the amount of Cadmium and Lead that is allowed in production.”Perhaps the warning label should be included in the pictures and description when folks are ordering so that they are not alarmed when they receive the product.

Chocolate mint flavor is just awful. My wife takes liquid fish oil daily and refuses to have another drop of this flavor. It's really bad!

Essential woman was introduced to me by a friend originally for hot flashes which I was suffering periodically throughout day and night, menopause! Started taking hot flashes ebbed within a week to completely stopped by end if a month, unreal. Well that was not the only benefit yet worth every penny..my T3 and T4 started to balance, i suffer hyper, Graves Disease, within 6 months i had normal within range results and no medication. Hair was great, face glowing, energy levels up and anxiety levels down. This supplement has had many positive results for me. Lastly i suffer from RA inflamed joints, visibly inflamed. This also shows improvement on this supplement. Highly recommend. Stick with it for at least 90 days for multitude of benefits to show.
