My van has a power socket in the rear. Saves having to feed a power cable to the front. Works brilliantly using the phone as a monitor as I only use it for hooking up to a trailer

Do not buy if you look for a reverse camera, I read several review about it and I didnt believe them, I was wrong, it takes ages to connect, ha to ve done manually otherwise if left connected, you loose the internet connectivity, only option would be to use an old phone as monitor.

The unit it connected via wi do to your phone. This you have to set tip every time you need to use it. It isn’t a reverse camera it’s a rear facing camera

Had this camera professionally installed on my car however wanted the camera to pair with my Apple I phone which it did not so tried it on an android and worked. Not enough instructions re use would be useful if phone screen automatically switched to reversing screen when reverse gear selected! Not a wonderful product.

Plus points:1. The camera gives a good image. Good focus and appears to work in different light levels.2. The latency (i.e. delay) is pretty good. I wasn't able to measure it accurately but it's low enough not to be an issue. I've experimented with other cameras that have latencies in the 3-5 second range which makes them unusable for parking.3. The wifi range is about 5 metres. That seems ok.Minus points:1. The yellow wire does nothing. It is completely open-circuit. The camera turns on with the yellow wire disconnected, connected to ground or connected to the supply. Changing it when the camera is on has no effect.2. It takes 32 seconds between applying power and an image appearing on the phone (iphone 6). That is far too long for a reversing camera.3. The app will connect to any available wifi. I was expecting that when you start the app, it would disconnect from e.g. your home wifi and connect to the camera but that appears not to be the case. To get it to work, you need to manually change the wifi settings on the phone. Quite ridiculous.Conclusion:The slow turn-on time and the time it takes to change the phone settings make this unusable as far as I'm concerned. Perhaps the answer is to have it turned on permanently as the power consumption is pretty low.For now, I've gone back to using a wired camera.
