Did what it was designed to do
Leaking radiator from a rusted bleed valve. Isolated the radiator at both ends and removed the leaky valve. New valve fitted and thread treated with ptfe tape. Allowed water to flow back into the radiator and no leaks - win. Full heating restored and no more wet carpet.

Solved a problem
These bleed valves solved a particular problem for me that may be of help to some others.I have two vertical radiators both of which tinkle excessively. A sound like running water. Frequent and annoying and that no amount of bleeding would cure.The original bleed valve was on the same side as the radiator water inlet meaning the opposite side on the water outlet was a blanking cap. I swapped the blanking cap for an extra bleed valve. I now have 2 bleed valves per radiator and the noise issue was solved instantly.It may not work for everyone who may have a similar problem but for the cost its worth a try.
