brilliant sci so hot with a hint of humour
my brother introduced me tothis series. This is fantastic and really quite funny. based in outer space the Orville ship can travel around meeting other civilisations and planets. and the comedy is the best i’ve seen in a long time. there is t too much as to spoil the show but it’s a nice mix of sci fi, relationships and humour thrown in to the mix. the only disappointment i find that this series has three seasons altogether but you can only purchase the first and second seasons in the uk. you cannot get a copy of season three.

Excellent show
Excellent show in the vein of Star Trek, but with more humour, higher production and some excellent to very good storyline/episodes.

Kermit steals the show
Best sci fi comedy since Red Dwarf

Good entertainment.
Good entertainment.A slightly tongue in cheek spoof of Star Trek, with character equivalents easily recognisable.Stoyline gets a bit fragmented at times, but overall not bad.

Better than several ST series...
I admit it. We didn’t watch THE ORVILLE for four years because… I’m a Star Trek snob, and I thought it was just a ST rip-off, a comedy parody with tedious toilet humour and cheap CGI.My bad.The Orville is actually far better than several ST franchises. It’s smarter. It’s less self-important. It’s silly – but then it’s deeply serious. And it has convoluted plots and unpredictable characters and interesting aliens and decent dialogue and groooovy spaceships. And it’s occasionally outrageous. And yes, it’s a shameless ‘tribute’ to classic Star Trek, but in the nicest possible way. It emulates all the good bits and ignores most of the tedious stuff. So although there are only a dozen Orville episodes in each season, there are no really dreadful schedule-stuffing potboilers.Of course, it helps that many of the writers, directors and actors are ex-Star Trek troopers, freed from corporate responsibilities (mostly) to take weird risks with time, space and sensibilities. And the gloriously retro CGI is actually quite sweet, in a chintzy kinda way.Roll on S3…

Good value
A basic set of DVD's in a box. What else is needed? Regarding the show itself - this SciFi series is the very best of its genre that has been on TV for decades - Good SciFi science and most of all - subtle comedy - it has b=good characters and storylines about civilization some 400 years in the future without taking itself too seriously and being too pompous. ( like StarTrek TNG ). Great entertainment. Pity the third series is not available in the UK ( without having to subscribe to Disney+ )

If you need a laugh....
The Orville, a genuinely funny Sci fi series. A spoof of sorts with cameo appearances by some of the Star Trek tng crew..
